Creating a kickstarter which promises a singleplayer RPG and then turn it into MMORPG would disappoint a LOT of backers.

I don’t know if this is topic was created for trolling purposes but let’s talk about it in a serious way:
1.) are you out of your mind
2.) This would be a terrible terrible idea. i can understand why you might think it would be awesome and I tell you something: it WOULD be!!!.. if it would work.
But unfortunately it wouldn’t. At least not in the way the game is heading now. It would need a lot of changes mostly because of balancing issues and restrictions of liberty within your actions and I am sure mostly in a way of reducing the way of the gameplay-possibilities it wants to offer right now. I know exactly how you imagine this game to be as an MMORPG but the problem is that it would destroy the idea the devs have in their mind.
And that is exactly what they (and we - if I may say so) don’t want.
I guess a Multiplayer with certain limitations would be possible… but for the love of god, please no MMORPG

I would not have backed if this had been an MMO.
I would be okay with a co-op mod/addition later down the line but I feel like an MMO would ruin the feel of the game.

That is an awful idea, MMOs are a cancer to the gaming industry in themselves and I’ve yet to find an mmo that actually had any capacity to become an mmo"RPG"
I can’t base this on anything concrete but just inferring from things the developers have said they are more interested in putting our first person RPGs then MMOs. I would hate to see Deliverance be a success only to have the sequel become an MMO for the potential cash. That fate fell on Knights of the Old Republic and the Elder Scrolls; luckily I think we don’t have to worry about it happening here.
