The infamous murder stroke?

Will there be special techniques such as the infamous murder stroke?

There will be halfswording techniques in the game, but the Murder Stroke is not in the game. Sorry.

Remind me again what is the difference between murder stroke and halfswording

Both knights are doing halfswording techniques. The right one doing the murder stroke, the left one is gripping the sword by the blade, making it half as long to have more precision in the tip, and push it in between the gaps of the armor of the opponent. This technique is available in the game.

Then there is another technque in the game, where you thrust with the pommel like this:

It’s a relief to see that halfswording will be implemented, although it’s kind of weird that the murder stroke itself isn’t. Was there a specific reason for excluding it? It just seemed natural that with all of the cut angles you can have, mordhaus just seemed like the logical armored fighting alternative.

I can imagine that animation for adjusting hands position can be quite challeging to do correctly, as it would have to come from “standard” grip->into reverse grip->murderstroke->standard grip. lot of work, hard to do it smoothly, and it somewhat disrupts flow of animations imo.

The hilt gripped ‘pommel strike’ either as a cut or ‘thrust’ is really quite easy to enter from either a half sword or ‘normal’ grip as you ‘run through’. It strikes with nearly the full inertia of the sword (at a relatively slow pace) (rather than the minor fraction from the foible at a higher speed) and even with little ‘weight’ behind it can force an opponent to the ground. (It is effectively a short two-handed mace at that point, choked near the head and held some way down the shaft (either on the sword hilt near the cross, or on the blade in the ‘strong’). I often use it against people with more reach.
