I still prefer the open vistas, the hills with a river flowing through them; a brook by a derelict hut. Night time in forests is perfect too, with the moon poking through the trees and The Plough, Orion and The Pleiades moving across the sky. The attention to detail is unreal with the recognisable grasses, herbs, wild flowers and funghi.

the forests look like forests (plants don’t look like the computer decided I’ll put a willow here)
everything seems to fit… except the huge path between Neuhof and Rattay. in absence of wagon traffic, the breadth of the path/road seems out of place
Snap. The world they created is a success I think (I know that isn’t the same for everyone but that’s my opinion) I was in the church at Rattay listening to a woman pray to The Virgin and it felt really intimate. Like I was intruding. It was so weird.

Most players nowadays cannot understand/appreciate the unique level of attention the devs have put in this game. So bassically the only thing they can see are the few bugs. That is sad but by analogy with cinema, when the only thing you ever known is the production of Holywood or Marvel, it’s hard to understand independent low budget productions. You are formatted for eye candy stuff and you “eat” them by dozens without blinking.
The only landscape here is a jewel, obviously lot of hand crafting. The light scattering is physically correct, the physics of combat is great. The level of detail of the equipement is unique. Etc. BUT without the classic eye candy and lvl of polishing of AAA prods, it’s pretty predictable almost normal to get plenty of whining feedback…

The forests are beautiful and they did a fantastic job animating the livestock. Obviously animated by hand, for lack of a better term. Would’ve been funny to see them try to mocap a freerange chicken, though.
