The map is beautiful

There is too much negativity recently guys.

I don’t think we are appreciating how god damn beautiful this world is that Warhorse have created. I mean, literally every single angle I see when I’m riding around is so perfect and looks so heavenly.

SO! I think we should have a thread where we submit these amazing locations that we find!

Personally I still love Samopesh and wish it was more widely used than just for us testers.

i cant understand People criticising this game too.
it is very detailed very beautiful. it is hard at the beginning but there are some Options like treasure chests unlocked to find, in order to improve early.
it is very beautiful i loved skyrim and tried so many mods on ybox one to make it more pretty.
it never has so much Details and graphics compared to here.
and skyrim crashed always,to a Point i stopped playing, because yopu had to overload it with mods.
i love all those new ideas and mechanics here

great game

what i like about this game, not only the great views. but all Woods and rivers and roads are have so detailed graphics, it does not seem like 0815 generated, so much bushes grass Stones broken trees flowers mushrooms etc etc etc. really great

more impressive are realistic villages architecture, it is not the typical inn or typical shop. the buildings are all somehow odd, with ladders and hay and small rooms, like in the old days, there are no big stairs or luxuary, but simple ladders and plain beds, dark rooms, Wood everywhere, very realistic

last but not least, the game mechanics are superb and npc behaviour too. i recognized that every morning they will stand in a row to wash themselves in a Barrel or stand in a row to eat from a cauldron. and you are able to poison this eat from it cook with it etc , great.

I like to stand in the rain next to a pond or lake and watch the raindrops hit the surface… then a crack of thunder & a bright spark of lightning. Awesome! And, i’m on XB1X. It must look incredible on a high end rig.

just look at this. I never thought this level of beauty would ever be possible to create in a game

The visuals really are grabbing me when you get past dusty roads and some of the more generic buildings and interiors.

Going into the forests, following a stream, seeing a unique building or castle or a view from high up a hill looking down into the landscape below - it really looks great, even on medium quality settings with ~30 FPS on the decent-but-not-great laptop I have.

I can only imagine how it looks on Ultra with a 4K resolution. I mean, I could probably do that just to go around and take some screenshots at like 5 FPS, but to have that consistently at 60 FPS would be sweet.

The map lookos great even from the air on PS4. I was amazed how optimized the lod is when I saw this and had no lags at all. After this amazing view I died and had to reload save half an hour ago, but it was worth it

I really think the landscape is one of the crowning achievement of this game. It isn’t just beautiful, it is very thoughtfully crafted and stocked. Now, I’ve heard many complain about the LOD of individual items, but when you see the forest and not just individual trees, it truly is gorgeous.

Last night, I was playing PUBG with my daughter and couldn’t help but wonder how much different that game would feel if it was played in a world as lush and full as KCD? You can see for KMs in the woods of PUBG, but only meters in KCD. PUBG is already a stress-fest as it is, I can only imagine the terror of having to play in woods like those north of Talmberg.

This wins y’all. xD the artistic expression is more than Warhorse could ever have imagined. It combines the beauty of the game with the speed and haste as well as Hal’s fury! Lol

That’d be scary!

You got a cool example for us to see? :3

Uhhhh… How’d you even get up that high?

How can I appreciate the map when I can’t load my save?

Stand in the densest part of the forest just a bit away from a brook. Turn on surround sound and turn it up. Bliss. Just like going for a walk.

I prefer the views from Vranik when your looking out across the hills towards what is probably the E50 motorway now

Yeah but what about this?

It’s a bug with the alchemy table where you just fly up in the air without end.

First I thought this was about the in game map (M) because I think this is really well crafted too.
I love games with good artistic maps like this one or LOTRO. That’s why I couldn’t stand the map in skyrim for example.

But, of course, the map landscape wise is truly beautiful and it feels still very good in forests on lower graphics.
I often compare the forests to the real thing when I am in the woods and although there is naturally a big difference, they have come the closest I have seen so far. You often see jungle style maps that look really good but they seem always a bit over the top for me and not that much realistic but since I haven’t been to any jungle yet, I can’t really say.

I dont have a screen shot but walking through the north west forest past skalitz, it was a very sunny day, the woods were dense, then i came to a small clearing. The sun was bright illuminating the grass and leaves. Reminded me of being a kid mushroom hunting

I thought you were talking about the actual in-game maps, which are also gorgeous. The detail in the landscape and the activity in the figures is incredible. How beautiful the maps are really makes it a joy to navigate from place to place.

Both sides of it are great, really - whether it’s the menu map or the actual landscape.
