for some reason the lock pick trainer in rattay who also trains you in picking pockets. doesn’t give me any more lock picks after failing to unlock the chest then he just stands there for a while till he gives up and then refuses to train me anymore after that
I was trying to pickpocket him. after every attempt, there is a dialog option to ask him for another pickpocket attempt.
However sometimes the Miller just acts like you were really trying to pickpockt him. I guess it’s timing issue. Maybe this happened to you as well.

yea he ran away calling for guards ive never tried to pick pockets after that, plus the ui lag on console is sad because it makes pickpocketing near impossible
Build your rep back up. Go to jail. Trade, and give him tips. Take your pick.
you can do this and its not such a big deal however I would consider the miller to be broken because its not always possible to tell whether he is in “teaching mode” or not.
You did select the training diologue and go behind the mill with him right?

this happened to me in one of my saves, I had never talked to him and he was doing this. I did however fist fight his debt collectors, so that could have been something to do with it. Did you do anything similar?
Same to me in the beginning,
after raising my rep in the area, done some quest for the other millers , i could ask him for Training again.
Also Trading which wasn´t even in the dialogue.
I am pretty sure that this is not a bug, strictly speaking.
If you don’t pay close attention it can very easily happen that henry “really” pickpockets him instead of “training”. Of course that will most likely fail resulting in the miller being angry at Henry.
