The Moon in the Middle Ages (Early Alpha Teaser)

The Moon seems upside down in the Early Alpha Teaser (please correct me if I am wrong):

  • the pattern of maria is reflected from how it is appears in the real sky (it can be quite easily seen at 1:25 while the woman is praying);

  • the Sun should be well below the horizon at the end of the trailer, based on the phase of the Moon, so the lit side should be pointing in some downward direction (this makes the last scene at 1:35 look quite surreal).

I guess it goes without saying, it is an incredibly looking teaser. The Moon bothers me though… Hope this is fixed in the game. Geek out.

Since Bohemia quite north (around 50th latitude), moon crescent is always upright, and never sideways

You are right that it is never horizontal, but it isn’t always upright either.

In any case, to be more specific, my point is that the lit part should be at the bottom of the Moon when the Sun is below the horizon, not at the top. To see what I mean, check the path of the moon in the sky at http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=moon+prague+sep+1+2014, around the time of the moonset. The lit part is pointing down-ish, towards the Sun below the horizon.
