The ONE thing keeping me from playing

I haven’t played for the last couple of updates. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s an original and good game (besides some bug encounters of course, but I can live with that). What actually keeps me from playing is the controller sensitivity. I don’t think I ever played a game before that won’t let me adjust the sensitivity to my personal liking. I’m actually kind of surprised that there aren’t more threads about this - I mean, turning around is painfully slow…? Anyone? Will this feature ever come or will my game have to keep collecting dust?

Edit: I’m on Ps4 Pro.

Nevermind the above post. I believe that is actually a pc with xbox button mod.

The one thing that kept me from playing is actually two things

  1. The level cap -> no motivation to fight after reaching the cap of your favored combat skill
  2. The poor combat reactions (no limping when you shoot someone in the leg, no crawling people on the floor after a large battle,…)

I find the combat system to be good, but it is in principle always the same, so I would have to spice it up with some random reactions or at least the motivation to progress your skill everytime you fight.
Went back to skyrim, because there the reactions are almost the same and there is a mod for disabling the level cap at least^^

Funny you said that… I just recently discovered Enderal. I don’t know how I hadn’t heard about it till now. So I installed it with several mods and fired it up and just couldn’t play it because I can’t stand the melee combat now after playing kcd.

You have to get a combat mod, they work for enderal too afaik (when I played enderal, there were not much mods out unfortunately, so I cant speak from experience). Without those I couldnt play Skyrim either.

Hmm yeah I can relate to the two issues you talk about too.

Wow, you must be sensitive. The sensitivity is capped so you’re not running all over the place like an ADHD child.

What…? So my personal subjective preference is what you refer to as being an Adhd child? Turning your head around in real life is not limited, nor should it be in a game. It shouldn’t take seconds to turn around 180 degrees to see what is tearing you a new hole.

Correct- remapping opens up solutions for some.

For me-not being able to map a ‘run’ button to the left hand seems really silly.
I have had other issues with KCD due to lack of forethought by devs that typical gamers need nowadays. (Eg defeatable HUD: Im not having red and yellow vivid colours etching away at my screen for hours at a time (plasma))

The lack of button adjusting and assuming we all have xbox/ps4 controllers seems a little short sighted.

Many games, even on consoles, having various configs, allows for more ‘use’ scenarios in a world with seven billion possible requirements…

Oh that’s right, I even forgot about the weird controller setup.
It’s kinda sad, Since configurable setup helps so many and are so easy to implement compared to other requests. Although bugs are very important to deal with too of course…
