Im very cautious on them anytime I have to ride one but avoid them in general at all costs. They are generally safe, but after working in large shopping mall I know how dangerous and how easily things get caught in them especially little kids fingers.
This is the first meat grinder style escalator death I have ever heard of though.
I love how they all just walk away, like “hey just another day in China” 
. Do they not have emergency stop buttons in China?

You know he might kill that lion intentionally and he might pay for it a lot but after all it was just an animal.
It even had better life than those milions of chickens, pigs, cows etc. who die in terrible conditions.

I completely agree, murders and rapists aren’t giving this shitty of treatment. I see people saying they hope his family dies of aids, and shit like that yet they go home and eat a hamburger.

According to the article I linked the people had no training on what to do for an escalator emergency.
I was surprised they didn’t fight harder to not let her get sucked in the first place.
That’s not the first time ive seen such passiveness in Chinese people, in life threatening situations. Probably the result of decades of communist indoctrination.
I do not think that it is passivness. Also I do not think they just “walked away”. From what I saw, it seemed they fled away in terror.
As @McWonderBeast pointed out the poeple there had no training and therfore they were not mentaly prepared for this kind of situation.
So what we saw there is exactly this, mental unpreparedness. Because they knew what to do (pull her out) but as they were not prepared, the instinct did not turn into resolve, will gave a way and with it the muscles and poor mother is dead.

I won’t dispute whether it is or is not hard to shoot a lion. However, the more important part is conservation. Standard fee for shooting a lion is North of €15.000. This is the money that goes to the range owner and to the local population that works for the range owner to keep the number of animals high so that in turn they get more profit from them being killed.
Without that the rising populations would use the area for grazing domestic animals. Grazing animals doesn’t go well neither with wild grass eating animals neither with predators that would be killing livestock.
Without things like lion hunting, lions would soon end up the same like large predators in Europe. It is the economy of hunting which makes it more profitable to have lions in the reserve rather than sheep and cows.
Downloading movies from internet is legal here. Only uploading them (making them accessible) is illegal. Why would you pay for something you can get for free? (I still don’t understand Windows users in the world where Linux exists).
Riding metro every day, I can’t escape them. And until your ride one on Prague metro, you don’t know what a long escalator is. This is the longest one, I ride it at least twice a day every day:
People never realize the buttons are there. When a tourist trips at the end the others just keep piling and piling until someone sitting by the cameras stops it, the people around never push the button.
The same when someone falls on the rails. Everyone jumps to the rescue/possible death but nobody pushes the emergency button stopping all incoming traffic.
We just had 3 dead on a train because idiot driver left a truck on rail crossing. Had he pushed the gate, it would also automatically stopped all incoming trains.
People are just too lazy to think before hand, and when SHTF, it is too late. (which is, IMHO, also the reason why so few carry a gun).

Very surprising though that one was penetrated . Likely to be a fault with that particular tank when you look at the fact another challenger 2 took 70 direct hits differing in location and suffered zero damage .
The Iraqis have also lost a good amount agaisnt ISIS Some being destroyed and many being captured . About one third of what you have them has now been captured or destroyed . Fucking shocking really on the Iraqi part . Gifted some of the best kit available and they just give it away to the enemy

Guarantee you its a result of them being idiots and not a design flaw with the tank. And Abrams were used far more heavily than challengers were. Not to mention the Abrams were damaged from rear shots, and this challenger took a frontal shot and was penetrated.
Well the fact that they tried so hard to cover it, makes you wonder if this hasn’t happened more often.
Yes but they reacted the same way to the U.S teenager who was legally hunting big game in Africa, she donated the meat to villages and the money went to conservation. She got death threats, the media slandered here, and people wanted her kicked out of the U.S. Everyone was up in arms saying they were going to lynch her.
Even if the dentist had killed the lion legally all these people would still be crying their eyes out about it.
I saw Jimmy Kimmel fucking crying on his show about the fucking lion. The way he reacted, you would think he lost his best friend and knew the lion his whole life.
