the question is why are they doing it illegally why not apply for asylum ? it doesnt cost anything to go to the Spanish embassy and apply
the ones coming from libya in the boats are paying 2200 euros for the trips why not fly ? what are they hiding ? if money isnt the issue what is ?
Just getting into the embassy isn’t as easy as it sounds. Most embassies in countries like this are heavily guarded, and that especially to prevent easy entry of possible asylum seakers.
I also suppose that the embassies have different level of handling of asylum requests than when the asylum request it filed within the territory. I know for example that if you apply for asylum at the Prague Airport, you have next to no chance for success, they will just put you on plane out of the country. I suppose it is the same with most embassies.
As regards plane tickets - you need to get visa first. The carriers are bound not to take on board anyone without visa. If they do bring someone who asks for asylum and didn’t have proper visa, they are boudn to pay all costs connected with the process (or at least with deportation), which can be quite a hefty sum.
And I suppose most people who do get visa don’t really ask for asylum.
So the issue is that for these people, there is no other way in.
no i mean the embassy in moroco . go to the spanish embassy and apply the proper way for asylum . i beleive they have to at least hear your case . or not just apply for a visa .
although as he said by law once your there they have to try you under the law before kicking you out .
airports are very different however as you officially have not crossed the border until you pass border control illegally or legally
I know, that is what I meant - it may not be as easy. For example there is no way in hell you can get into most embassies in Prague without being officially let in.
Moreover in many “high threat level” countries the embassies are in a special secluded area, so not only it is next to impossible to get to the embassy, but even to the part of the town with embassies, unless you have the proper paperwork.

yes thats what i mean you go to the gate or reception or whatever and go in . thats what they’re there for . in these places yes you may need to organise and meeting e.g call ahead . and have a form of ID
