Yep the worst mass shooting in U.S history in terms of death could have been avoided had the police headed the warnings. Lets also add that the police had knowledge of the columbine high school shooting A YEAR in advance and they did nothing.

The National guard have served in every war we’ve ever been in. They are not some over weight sleepy police force they are frontline troops. Lets also add the to fact that only 1000 troops will be in the exercise and theres 12,000 national guard.
They are not there to stop the military just make sure they don’t violate citizens rights. Plus he already won the election which happened recently.
first off they wouldnt stand a chance against elite US troops who by the sounds of it our being equipped to the max for the ex .
secondly i never meant it like that .
what i meant is they would challenge the army in any way shape or form . if you seriously think they are going to follow the troops around and saying "cant do that mate " you’re in for a shock
id actually go to far as saying the biggest danger to you as citizens is the national guard its self as its in all but officially a military unit but is allowed to be deployed against US citizens for riots etc and would be the first line of defence against a "rebellion " and would be the ones taking your guns if they ever did .
yet you seem to let them slip under the radar YET you go crazy about 1200 troops who constitutionally cant lay a finger on you doing training in your area

Seals and other elite troops were the ones grabbing guns in Katrina not the national guard.
They would be the ones who would manage the big crowd yet. But if they ever tried a big massive gun grab like that there would be a full scale rebellion. Their best chance would be to do a quiet gun grab while assassinating larger threats like militias. National guard would be responsible with riot control and stuff like that.
Who would you send to take out 30 year combat vets who are armed to the teeth? Seals or national guard?
Their best bet would to do a quiet gun grab and do it as quickly as possible and get as many guns as possible before word got out. Special forces would be better suited for that.
