The †roll Cave ®™

Are you serious right now? Like for real?

Perhaps you’ve never studied the pacfic.

No Truman was asking for Russia’s help with Japan and used the bomb as leverage pretty much threatening Stalin. That was part of the deal Truman was willing to let the soviets occupy Eastern Europe in exchange for helping us with JAPAN.

Don’t think thats try

Source that.

starlin was unaware of the bombs existence until they were dropped warriant its a fundamental part of the breaking down of relations . russia got invoved before they were dropped

KJSLDFJDLS. > Three days after the successful test blast, after consulting his advisers and Churchill (the British had cooperated in the project), Truman decided it would be wise to tell Stalin the news. Explaining that he wanted to be as informal and casual as possible, Truman said during a break in the proceedings that he would stroll over to Stalin and nonchalantly inform him. He instructed me not to accompany him, as I ordinarily did, because he did not want to indicate that there was anyting particularly momentous about the development. So it was Pavlov, the Russian interpreter, who translated Truman’s words to Stalin. I did not hear the conversation, although Truman and Byrnes both reported that I was there.

> In his memoirs, Truman wrote that he told Stalin that the United States had “a new weapon of unusual destructive force.” Apparently, the President did not tell Stalin the new weapon was an atomic bomb, and the Soviet leader did not ask or show any special interest. He merely nodded and said something. “All he said was that he was glad to hear it and hoped we would make good use of it against the Japanese,” Truman wrote. Across the room, I watched Stalin’s face carefully as the President broke the news. So offhand was Stalin’s response that there was some question in my mind whether the President’s message had got through. I should have known better than to underrate the dictator. Years later, Marshal Georgi K. Zhukov, in his memoirs, disclosed that that night Stalin ordered a telegram sent to those working on the atomic bomb in Russia to hurry with the job.

Good god man. :stuck_out_tongue:

He told him at the Postdam conference only 3 days after the first test of it!

Heres everyones reaction to the news as written in their memoirs.

ahhhh yes my confusion i knew he told him at potsdam but got mixed up about if it was after the test or the main drop . you win this time warriant

look it up so few you can get each one of their names

i tried to but to get any numbers of actual aircraft on either front is impossible but going by the logic of being more german troops as a whole on the eastern front i would imagine they would of deployed more aircraft to the eastern front as well

Soviet Marshal Georgii Zhukov’s version:

I do not recall the exact date, but after the close of one of the formal meetings Truman informed Stalin that the United States now possessed a bomb of exceptional power, without, however, naming it the atomic bomb.

As was later written abroad, at that moment Churchill fixed his gaze on Stalin’s face, closely observing his reaction. However, Stalin did not betray his feelings and pretended that he saw nothing special in what Truman had imparted to him. Both Churchill and many other Anglo-American authors subsequently assumed that Stalin had really failed to fathom the significance of what he had heard.

In actual fact, on returning to his quarters after this meeting Stalin, in my presence, told Molotov about his conversation with Truman. The latter reacted amost immediately. “Let them. We’ll have to talk it over with Kurchatov and get him to speed things up.”

I realized that they were talking about research on the atomic bomb.

It was clear already then that the US Government intended to use the atomic weapon for the purpose of achieving its Imperialist goals from a position of strength in “the cold war.” This was amply corroborated on August 6 and 8. Without any military need whatsoever, the Americans dropped two atomic bombs on the peaceful and densely-populated Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Clearly the Russians were afraid of us having that bomb.

Yes but the western allies had far more aircraft than the soviets so don’t you think its logical that they would send the most aircraft towards them?

no because hitler main goal was russia and i do know that the german airforce was very very light in the air on D-day with very few sorties being carried out

i remember watching a documentary on germanys research into the bomb . Hitler had set two teams up to make the bomb competing against one and other . after the war when we brought both teams together and their information we discovered that between them they basically had everything needed par a few details which they would of found had they shared all their data .

makes you think how different it could of been

Gentleman. Mad Max is a really good movie. 4D can be sometimes a bit too distracting, I can’t wait to see it again in 2D and decide whether it is good or great.

Yeah when You shared what 4D was I was like that’s neat maybe for a video game but for an action movie I think I would be puking all over the place.

Yeah i can only imagine how much of a pain the ass it would be to eat and drink while you’re getting tossed around and sprayed with shit. Soggy popcorn :weary:

But your idea about video games is interesting. But i think having an entire room made for that would be quite pricey. Maybe in the future we’ll have VR pods.

I have seen allot and made some theories myself about potential ways to make the ultimate VR experience.

Look up sensory deprivation chambers and haptic feed back if you don’t know what they are.

It would be a pod/egg style deprivation chamber (maximizes range of movement) and you would be fully submerged.

You would have a head to toe scuba style haptic feedback suit, this makes it so everything but your face can receive stimulus from the virtual world. (its like dual shock for your whole body)

This suit would also have sensors that would deliver electric shocks to stimulate pain response.(very mild would range from gag toys like electric pen to a maximum of a dog shock collar, painfully but non lethal)

The build would also have a custom Oculus rift style helmet. I imagine the design to be like a space suit helmet air tight (keep user from drowning, would have vents to mist essential oils and scent concentrates to simulate smell)

Inside the helmet you would have goggles or a visor that does the same as the rift.

in that environment your brain would have no choice but to except that experience as real.

What if we’re really in a pod like that? And nothing is real.

You haven’t done psychedelics have you?

I have actually experienced coming to (like I had been knocked out) in an alternate reality that felt more real then anything I had known before.

There was a semi circle of people around me and one of them (had during the experience and still have the overwhelming sensations she was my mother) was asking me where I had been and it had been a great long time since I was with them. She looked concerned and told be it was time to go back now.

Then I was sitting in a chair sweating like I had ran a marathon with my friends in front of me with expressions like WTF MATE. Apparently I had been talking in an unrecognizable language.

Well, it was actually amazing, everything but the moving/vibrating seats which were little too much in some moments.

It really can make wind blow fast through the room. The first time the car was driving through the desert and I could feel really strong wind on my face, I was just “whoa”!

The water effects are also quite nice, when the actor falls into water and you get watter mist into face, you really enjoy it much. When the blood spills on screen and you get the water mist you almost try to taste it whether it is really only blood.

The stroboscopes during storm are just huge.

But then the car rolls over and the seat start throwing you in all directions, the character gets shot and you get a really not nice kick from the seat into your back… And you’re thinking you could do without that.
