i couldnt imagine living like you do though . feeling the need to be constantly armed outside or whenever someone knocks at the door .
im lucky i guess in the fact that where i live there is next to no trouble apart from the odd robbery or a car being stolen .
the most action my street has ever had was one of my neighbours chasing a guy down the street with a shovel after catching him trying to break into his car

Well Prague is extremely safe place compared both to where I come from or to London. Maybe not so safe to girls in night due to immigrant rapists, but that is still no way near the situation in Norway or Sweden, or Austria (don’t know about UK in that regard?)
I just got to the point where I realized it is utterly stupid to have a gun… locked at home. I don’t like doing stupid things, that is all.
When I take the night train to visit my family, that is entirely different story. Getting out of the train on midnight there and waiting for a taxi at the station is where I consider I really don’t want to be unarmed.
you cant really paint london with the same brush in regards to crime as its greatly dependent on where in london you go . some areas get next to no crime but if you venture into the poor areas where people dont work etc you find the gangs and plenty of crime. these areas you get to know from living in london and yes i would be a lot less keen on walking through them on my own late at night
see with that i wouldnt have a problem . ive stumbled home alone drunk late at night plenty of times
Well it is a fact that I was in London only for about 15 hours for a business trip.
I spent more time in Paris and in Brussels and I was utterly appaled by what I’ve seen as regards general safety there (and stayed only in the good parts of those cities). If London is better than Paris/Brux, then good for you, but I have a bit of a problem to believe that. Especially if it takes someone 15 minutes in subway to get from the worst part to the best part.

Yep, finally got the results from Unemployment hearing.
My former employer has to pay out cause they are bunch of salty nutsacks.

I also just read about Russia planning on building a new aircraft carrier. You best tell them the truth on how worthless air craft carriers are now a days.
Russia’s won’t be anywhere near as expensive as the US ones and they won’t be a symbol of russian power like the US ones are to the U.S.
But still the same concept an invasion cannot take place without air cover meaning losing your aircraft carrier results in the invasion being called off/post poned .
According to that article the amount would be close to crippling to Russia. That’s why they haven’t started yet. Probably big talk just like China and their weapon of doom that will bring the U.S to its knees.
Both China and Russia are pumping serious cash into their armed forces and both are aiming to have a blue water navy that can rival that of NATO so I would expect to see them building a few carriers especially China as they certainly have the money for it and I think they have 6 planned .
