Haha Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana really should be Mid west states. Then again the USCB has never been very bright.

Whats your point?

America may be the leaders of gun culture in the world, that does not make guns a cultural definition of America. Well guess maybe for all the closed minded generalists out there, it may.

Cambridge English Dictionary states that culture is, “the way of life, especially the general customs and beliefs, of a particular group of people at a particular time.”

Guns are not as commonplace as they once were. If you wanted to argue guns as being culturally significant you may have had an argument 50 years shit even 20 years ago.

Guns are very much a cultural thing in Midwest, Southern, and some Western states. Not American Culture.

No, you want the U.S to have Britain level fire arm restrictions. I was just showing you that drunk drivers or “idiots with alcohol” kill more people than guns do. Therefore we should have background checks and licenses for alcohol right?

Yes, but it would cover all guns. Not just shotguns (how boring) like in the U.K.
And it wouldn’t be a fucking insane course either, teaching someone fire arm safety shouldn’t be that complicated unless they’re brain dead. I knew how to handle a gun properly by the time i was seven.

Friend take a look at the map

Colorado, Wyoming and Montana are very much western states. They’re kinda where the wild west happened. I don’t see why you think they should be the mid west…

It’s not really generalizing. We have the highest number of firearm owners in the world, along with some of the most lax gun laws.

Actually incorrect. Private fire arm ownership has never been higher and increases every year, more people own guns now than ever. Crime is also at the lowest its been in 50 years.

So the majority of the country lol? Most of the west likes guns, pretty much all of the south and most of the mid west. Yeah i’d say America has a gun culture.

Like @snejdarek has said owning weapons can very much be a way of life.

WHAT !!! When have I ever said that ! I don’t agree with the British gun controls . I agree with the cezch ones . As I’ve stated many times .

Are you serious? You have said that hundreds of times. Only recently have you begun to see how stupid tight gun restrictions like the U.Ks are.

We have to types of certificates well 2 but the third is basically impossible to get .

Shotgun certificate
Firearms certificate

Apart from weapons under 60cm in overall length (people get round this by sticking a stock on pistols )
And assault rifles such as a AR15 are only allowed in .22 as well no fully automatics .

Other than that you can own .50 cals etc no problem .

But I think it’s too strict

Don’t mistake my views for me enjoying winding you up  I’ve always stated I like the cezch system and I’ve only ever argued against the American system of selling guns like candy bars

i want that fucking Mosin–Nagant

How is it not? To say something is culturally definitive your suggesting that gun ownership/acceptance is a commonplace, when it is very centralized in particular places within the country.

This is also centralized not every state has had an increase.

No. There are more people in the U.S. now than ever. During the 1800-1900 there was a much more saturated gun ownership of U.S. Citizens.

You can also check out these articles (there’s allot of them out there) discussing how there is a decline of households with firearms.

Article 1
Article 2
Article 3 Discusses gun ownership in the 1900s, there’s little to know empirical data on gun ownership prior to the 1900s (no Federal Census programs).

Keep in mind that private ownership sales may have increased but that does not mean more individuals own firearms.

There are stockpilers and private militias all over that are purchasing weapons at an increased rate.

Irrelevant we are discussing the concept of America being defined as a “Gun” culture, or the significance of guns to American “Culture”.

No shit, never once was it debated that America doesn’t have gun culture. This however does not mean that guns are culturally significant to America or the definition of American “Culture”.

So can being Obese, but we don’t define America culturally as fat because a percentage of Americans are obese. That is unless you want to generalize and create stereotypes (which can and many times are true but not of all the individuals within the group, thus is why its a Generalization).

this is how the world see’s america

Majority of the states gun ownership is common place, mid west, south, and most of the west.

On a national level gun ownership has gone up.

Hmm.

I’m almost certain private ownship levels have increased (more people own guns).

Wow it only took you 13mins to make a rebuttal. Hmm you must be speed a reader, either that or you didn’t take anytime to I don’t think?

Are you retarded or trolling?

You can’t call it an cultural thing, is not a denial that America has gun culture. America has many cultural groups but they are not cultural definitions of America as a whole.

Does not mean each individual state has had an increase its not a balanced percentage.

Again you didn’t even bother reading the articles I posted.

do you have any firearms ?

What the fuck? Are you trolling? I’m going with yes. You literally said you can’t call it a cultural thing and then turn around and say there is a gun culture?

What?

Sources?

Did find this CC ownership has gone up 4.7 million since 2007.

let me translate .

he is saying that gun culture exists within certain communities but that it doesnt represent US culture as a collective whole

I am assuming your asking me?

No I do not own any firearms, nor have I in the past. I have been shooting (Boy Scouts Mostly).

Its is also not a common practice where I live to own one unless you are a farmer, hunter, or a Midwesterner who has moved to my state.

I don’t believe i ever said it did so I’m not even sure what he’s going on about.

Again retarded or trolling?

Yes guns are cultural things in the U.S, I didn’t say it represented the entire U.S.

Troll harder plz

This does not mean anything.

You do realize that that could be an increase in individuals WHO ALREADY OWN firearms getting CCP’s.
