Inspiration or exploitation?
@ProkyBrambora @TheDivineInfidel @SirWarriant Opinions?
The source of this article is known for the crap content they produce, but overall the point is I see garbage articles like this pasted all over FB and its always “so inspirational”.
Always its a teen with some mental or physical disability or is “choosing to become transgendered” having their story sold and touted out by their parents.
I am all for equality, and I am all for moving out of the norm of perceived acceptability. What I am against is this growing mentality young kids are getting from the media is that being “normal” or straight is subpar and people will like and except you more if your “different” or progressive.
Why is it wrong to be straight and proud? but totally heart warming and inspirational to be gay and proud? yes I can understand that has only been in the last decade that homosexuality as truly become widespread “excepted” and it certainly takes more courage to open yourself to the world about who you feel you truly are, but gay, straight, pan sexual, Trans why do have to segregate and say its more to be proud of one v.s. any other?
I don’t know im just getting really fed up with all this garbage, when a person achieves something grand or does something extraordinary you rarely hear about it unless they have overcome “something” involving mental/physical disability, sexual orientation, or race in-equality.
