The †roll Cave ®™

Stop thinking so narrowly, we have discussed far more topics then guns.

I never said that you never acknowledge the evidence present by others but that you have a tendency to not do so.

There have been many times you do not refute the claims you simply dismiss it.(kind of like the above quote)

Yes then I pointed out how hypocritical it is for you to call him a hypocrite when you yourself are just as often doing the same thing.

If I have ever called you stupid or dumb it most likely wasn’t direct (you will flat out call someone stupid, I will refer to a response or thought as being stupid not the individual) this is also not something I commonly due. (unlike yourself and thedivine who can go at it like two spoiled children slinging shit(usually in jest).

Yes I very commonly employ a condescending tone toward people when I perceive them as displaying their ignorance, don’t think yourself special or singled out there.

My point was you generally (not always) come off condescending toward anyone or ideal that you disagree with.

I do so when I feel it appropriate, also a major difference is I can acknowledge and accept such criticism when it is given v.s. refuting it utterly and never waning in my opinion.

Do we really have to go back over the concept of perception v.s. intention?

I missed worded that previously I should have said sympathetic rather then sympathizer.

I would not take pity, but I empathize with the human condition and understand fully what its like to fight inner demons and mental illness.

I have hurt people, physically and mentally because of my own personal issues. Remorse is unpleasant but it is a profound teacher.

Because I was not condemned for my actions I was able to grow intellectually and emotionally, and was even given the ability to attempt to reconcile with those I hurt.

Yes, but the majority of the arguments we’ve had in this thread, have been about guns.

Also the gun topic was a good example, because there are always links posted.

If i were denying that i engaged in personal attacks it would make me a hypocrite.

You insult, but your insults are much more refined than mine are, and mainly involve you heavily implying something. But when i accuse you of insulting, you just say i’m perceiving it that way.

My perceptions = opinions. Your perceptions= fact.

Well it may come off that way, but certainly don’t look down on others for having different view points for the most part. I’ll happily argue with you, but i don’t hold your beliefs against you.

Would you sentence those men to death? If you answer yes, then you pity them. I did not say you shared the same view points as Nazis though.

Well its all fine and dandy the murderer has learned, and grown from his experience. But he denied someone else the chance to live their life. At the very least he should be in Prison for life.

Lets talk about Serial killers, and mass murderers. Do you think they should get a second chance at life?

Irrelevant this still does not dismiss you doing it for every other topic (and not only in this thread remember Im speaking generally i.e. all known interaction on the forum).

I have done this, however I am not always intentionally implying things when you perceive me to be. You commonly respond quickly and emotionally rather then analytically.

I only recall one time this occurred and I indeed was not intending an implication of insult, but you still perceived one.

Are you familiar with negative connotation? it causes allot of misinterpretations especially through non verbal communication.

I am sorry if this is truly your perception of me.

I am aware that I can have tendency to come of as pretentious it is not my intention and I will do better to present myself in a less abrasive manner (except when intentional for positive trolling, a little abuse is sometimes necessary to stimulate a deeper discussion).

I prefer to stimulate discussions.Cheesy meme but its a valid ideal.

You have made arguments that suggest the contrary.

nevertheless connotation, intention, implication and perception can be a bitch, especially when discussing things of a complex nature.

Elaborate?

Do I think they should be condemned to death? no.

Do I think they should be in prison for life? It would depend on the individual in question.

Some people are sociopaths and not a great deal (as far as we know currently) can be done to correct this and it is much better for the safety at large for them to be segregated from the general public.

Mental illness is a broad spectrum and we have found ways to correct many of these issues.

Our imprisonment policies and practices as well as our rehabilitation practices need to be reevaluated and redesigned.

Be safe, mate. We had the worst forest fire season here ever (also worst drought in 60 years), but fortunately the population density/firefighters numbers are high to the point that it never got anywhere close to populated areas.

Thanks for the concern, fortunately its all several miles away we just happen to be getting allot of easterly winds bringing it all on to us.(same winds that helped bring ashes from Mount saint Helens)

could get interesting . this seems to be getting slightly more serious than their usual hot air tricks

South Korea’s military reported on Sunday that it has detected unusual troop and submarine movements in North Korea that indicated Pyongyang could be considering a possible strike.

About 70% of the North’s 77 submarines have left their bases, the military said.

A South Korean official also said that the North had doubled the strength of its front-line artillery forces.

round of applause to the guy in the comments

I’m not convinced that faith can move mountains, but I’ve seen what it can do to skyscrapers.

I’m just glad that South Korea has really stepped up their military in the past few decades. They are now pretty capable, and probably able to fend off the North without U.S support (if needed). That is as long as China stayed out of it.

More like what the U.S government can do to skyscrapers.

I would think the main danger would be flooding after the fires are put out. Or are you on high ground?

This guy needs more subs.

Fortunatelly these are standard equipment of firemen here.

This nicely shows difference between truck with back bone tube and standard ladder frame:

Yeah I live in rolling hills and valleys flooding is never and issue.

Why would there be flooding after a wildfire?

Torched earth can’t take as much water as forest. It soaks a bit and the rest just runs on it downhill.

Like @snejdarek said. All the vegetation that normally holds the water back is gone. It happens constantly where i live. Two years ago we have a 1000 year flood, because the previous year half the state burned up in forest fires.

Ha logical, hadn’t thought of the rain fall not being absorbed as easily.

The fires are always very far from me so I never hear news nor have experience such flooding.

Many of the fires also happen outside of populated areas so flooding is less of a concern.

Been swimming, and fishing in this river since as long as i can remeber, and now it probably wont recover for 30 years. Thanks a lot government douche bags.

Aaand one more video. @McWonderBeast

Well since yesterday the air is officially hazardous to your health if breathed long term.

There is quite few large fires. Here you can look at a map of the fires, when you zoom in on each icon you can see the fire zone size.
