It does take a little for the character development to pick up.
Where Im at in the series is 5+ years after Rick woke up. Zombies are no longer a problem, survivors are.
Quality like they story is just hat much better? The T.V. show is very loosely based on the comic half the cast is different people.
The Dickson’s never existed.
Andrea never dies, and was never an annoying as bitch.
Carl kills more people then anyone (living people).
Sasha is Tyreese’s daughter and commits suicide long before Tyreese gets his head chopped of by the governor (in the show its Hershel).
Sophia never died she gets adopted by Maggie and Glenn, after carol commits suicide.
They are both good stories in there own right but the comic is just so much more hardcore. The change all the elements so much that even if you read something that the may put in the show you can be assured it won’t happen anything like the comic.
