To the victor goes history

Do you mean to say history is written by the victor?

Yes that’s exactly what I mean .

In other news : russia has deployed troops to Syria , who are now in combat and beleived to be setting up an airfield for wider operations

We never defeated any of those countries in a war, so that quote doesn’t make sense here.

Makes perfect sense . The Soviet Union was on the winning side of WW2 hence why starlins dark actions (equal to that of hitler ) slip under the radar

Oh okay, i thought for a second you were implying that the atrocities committed in Russia were American propaganda.

But those other countries, China, Vietnam Cambodia, we never learn about the genocides that took place there.

Japan’s actions in World war 2 were equal to Nazi Germanys, but they still deny them and don’t teach about them in school. But they’ll happily teach that evil Americans nuked Japan.

They backing the government or ISIS?

Please tell me that’s not a serious question ? Of course they’re backing the government . And engaging with NATO backed rebels , should get interesting if they deploy air assets against the free Syrian army .

this is the sort of rubbish im talking about when the west go against russia .

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry spoke to his Russian counterpart for the second time in four days to express concern over reports of Russian military activities in Syria, warning that it could fan more violence.

so us conducting air strikes in Libya , syria and iraq doesnt fan more violence ? ISIS is a global threat , we need everyone dropping everything they have on them . if russia are joining the party we should be putting our troubles aside and using this as a rock to repair the damaged relations between the west and east .

and no better way than hunting some rag heads

The Obama administration has done everything in their power to alienate Russia. We were actually on pretty good terms for a while, Putin was the first leader to express his condolences over 9/11, and Russia gave us a memorial with the victims names on it.

Now we’re back at each other throats.

That is not on Obama.

Putin’s ratings were getting fucked to the point he needed an enemy, and now he has one. His power is secure, with 90% approval ratings, higher than ever before, while Russian economy and liberties are on downward spiral.

could say it was the same for obama (back fired hugely ) . but even before , putins ratings were above 60% which is still pretty high .

most western leaders would die for such ratings

putin has done alot of good for russia , dealt with the corruption , where the oligarchs basically run russia , until putin basically stabbed them all in the back after they got him in power

but as you rightly point out a few posts ago , russians dont want freedom like we enjoy .
they want a strong leader and one that will stand up to the outside world

Yeah, but it was going downwards, and that was happening just before the inevitable Russian economy slump due to falling oil and gas prices.

The official position of the Czech government on quotas is “how the fuck do you want to implement it, move the refugees around like a fucking cattle”?

We are now offering asylum to every Syrian that enters the country and is detained by the police (frequent police checks now on border train stations as well as highways), but only about 1 out of 100 accepts it, everyone else wants to continue to Germany.

They vote with their feet, how Brussels wants to shuffle them around, that is beyond me.

right now it seems germany and the UK are the top locations they want to get to . luckily we are slightly harder to reach , but my worry is if germany grants them citizenship , how many will flood to us ?

It is Germany and Sweden actually. But yeah, UK is close enough.

Lebanon just made it illegal for Syrian refugees to work in the country. There are 2 million refugees in Lebanon now.

we cant depopulate syria , or it will be fucked for decades
