Why should tax payers have to support a pregnant teen or school drop out? They made conscious choices to get themselves in a bad spot. Putting someone on welfare doesn’t motivate people, it does the exact opposite.

I’m alright with things like food stamps, but welfare in the forum of money is so abused.

Agreed, illegals seem to think everyone owes them something, it’s odd seeing how these people come from such poor countries. It makes you wonder where the sense of entitlement comes from.

That’s insane, my father is getting his FFL right now, which will pretty much allow him to be a gun dealer, and perform background checks and shit. But anyway he’s been spending the last few nights filling out paper work, i can’t imagine just getting a shotgun being that difficult.

It’s also similar in where the government has to come and inspect where you will be storing the fire arms you intend to sell.

its not the teen the state support its the child , the government have a duty of care we cant have people starving to death in a 1st world power .

i certainly think we give to much but im not sub-human i dont want to see people struggling to survive . but ultimately we should be supporting these families in a way in which they are encouraged and forced to go on and make their own living and the pay the money back in taxes .

to get a shogun its really easy . need one referee (like you need when you get a passport ) and a doctors signature , thats it .

its actually on the same application form just with a shotgun you dont have to fill in the other 4 pages

apart from the 3 referee which i thinks over the top i see no issue with our process , its more of what we can own where i have my issue .

with the home visit , i dont have this stigma to the government like you two so for me its a non issue for some bloke to arrange a time and date to come and see where im storing the guns and run through how to contact them for any legal support etc and fill out any last bits of paper work and then have him hand me my licence .

Take the minimum wage argument in the U.S for example. These people want to drastically increase the minimum wage and want to stay on welfare at the same time.

Welfare does nothing but breed laziness and entitlement. 35.4% of Americans are on welfare, that is obscene. The number has just been increasing in recent years and the poverty level follows closely behind.

The issue is, welfare does not encourage people to get back on their feet and get jobs.
This one women had a great quote, i can’t think of her name but she was a former welfare recipient, but is now very wealthy, because she started a business and stopped taking hand outs.

Well then what is it for? It says its a fire arms license, don’t you have to have one of those before you can purchase a shotgun.

J.K rowling was a single mother on welfare , she wrote harry potter and became a billionaire (gave away most of her fortune so lost the billionaire status ) .

i simply dont understand these people who live on welfare , they have no ambition , no drive to ever achieve anything with their lives . i dont get it

no , two separate things .

most firearms license holder also have shotgun certificates and many never buy a shotgun , as i said its all on the same form if you’re getting a firearms license its basically a matter of ticking an extra box .

but you can get a shotgun license on its own , with which you can clearly only buy shotguns with . which is very easy to get unless you have a nasty past

Well, isn’t that what the parents are for? Unless they parents booted her out why would she need welfare. Also what about the father? Is he obliged to support her? Simply do that and you don’t need to dip into tax payer money.

That commus… i mean socialism for you. Sucks the ambition and drive out of people, they don’t care about being successful they just want to be average and get by without working.

There is actually a small mountain in my state where only about 100 people in a town of around 1000 work. One guy my father talked too worked at the gas station, was an ambulance driver, and several other jobs.
The others just stay around and collected the nice check from government.

Well, welfare does cause poverty. This is especially true in the black communities, in America. They have gotten poorer and poorer, while the amount of welfare they use has increased 10 fold since the 1960s.

You will never be rich on welfare hence why Americans are so poor. Welfare is only meant to get by and that’s something 35% of Americans are content with.
