As long as you are contempt with living in the police state.
the process in which they have to go through to gain any access to my personal messages or phone calls is huge here .
in reality , they can find all they need from facebook or twitter .
i trust our security services to act responsibly and do whats best
Well that is something America is quickly becoming. If we would simply secure our borders, stop creating gun free zones, and stay the fuck away from the middle east this wouldn’t happen.
standard practice here to all officers , be it a parking warden , traffic officer or armed officer .
armed officers are now also required to wear body cams
sadly its no use . the Czech parliament can say what they like , they signed up to the treaties and have no choice but to do what the pricks in Belgium say . EU courts will uphold the decision of the EU parliament.
they will simply impose this
our governments hold very little power anymore its shameful .
what the EU are proposing is a directive , so a member state can NOT go against it if it passes through EU parliament …which it will
What do you think about the media going quite when it was learned the shooters were Muslims?
Edit:
This shooting was a lot bigger than originally thought.
The Neighbours said they also saw over a dozen middle eastern men coming and going from the house with packages. So these guys were probably involved that means there are a dozen potential sleepers out there.
@snejdarek incase you have not seen the full list of changes …@SirWarriant if you’re interested which no doubt you will be
the EU proposed changes to the firearms directive are
-
ban on “Semi-automatic firearms for civilian use which resemble
weapons with automatic mechanisms”, this includes semi-automatic pistols -
The EU wants every single firearm and shotgun owner in the bloc
subjected to mandatory medical testing in order to own and use
firearms -
Fully automatic firearms which have been converted into legal
semi-auto firearms will be made illegal. -
Building an EU-wide database of every individual gun owner
-
Making alarm guns and flare pistols licensable
-
‘Good reason’ for gun ownership – i.e. a ban on ‘shall-issue’
licensing -
Outlawing private internet sales
Actually looking across the border to Slovakia I am really happy they got their own country for curbing freedom of speech, newspapers, establishing police state, etc.
Well this is TFEU Article 114 procedure, so we can still file exception.
If, after the adoption of a harmonisation measure by the European Parliament and the Council, by the Council or by the Commission, a Member State deems it necessary to maintain national provisions on grounds of major needs referred to in Article 36, or relating to the protection of the environment or the working environment, it shall notify the Commission of these provisions as well as the grounds for
maintaining them.
Finland already made it clear that they will file for exception as regards reservists and Sweden as regards hunters, so that semi-auto rifles will remain legal in these countries.
Here it may very well be bacause of personal defense. (Although I have never heard of one being used for that purpose, but there are 50.000 owners of semi-auto rifles and most have them officially for self defense).
Imbeciles.
We already have that - on par with driving license.
Imbeciles.
I think that the database should only include people who are barred from owning firearms in their own state. So that when they ask for permit in another state, it can be checked whether they have been blacklisted or not.
Currently you must present a paper from your state that you are able to own guns when buying gun in another EU state, so this might actually streamline the process. (My Slovak colleague went through getting the paper and it was pain in the ass).
I don’t have opinion on that one. But I can understand how a country by a sea can see that as a problem.
Self defense will remain good reason no matter what here.
Interesting part is their idea of obligatory membership of sport/hunting club. That would be contrary to Czech Constitution… and our Constitutional Court already ruled that our constitution takes precedense over EU law.
Sending it through post is already banned in the Czech Republic (you order it online and licensed dealer brings it and does all the paperwork on the doorstep).
You missed a few:
- Any replicas that resemble guns should be subject to firearm rules - i.e. air soft, paintball, etc.
- decommissioned weapons also subject to firearm rules (i.e. permits, licenses)
- guns in museums obligatorily decommissioned (that also caused shitstorm here)
What attention do British media pay to the proposal? Because here it has been front page news for the whole week, which is actually quite surprising considering that only 3% of population own guns.
apart from on hear have not heard a word from mainstream media , but a quick search on google and all our shooting associations are discussing it .
It may sound weird, but after our first mass shooting in January, a few politicians thought they can capitalize on gun control card, but it seriously backfired. Honestly I was myself surprised how pro-gun most Czechs are.
So now even those that are anti-gun keep quiet because they know that every time they open mouth they’re one step closer to be out of politics for good.
That is good, we don´t have such a thing in Germany, and it definetely is needed, especially at riots or demonstrations. Some policemen use their anonymity to do bad things and it is very difficult to do something against police butality in germany. Luckely it don´t happens often, but it happens, and if it happens, then you are fucked…
Here actually if they don’t have numbers on, then the officer in charge takes “credit” for what is done.
You can also see that in case they don’t have them on and anyone shows up with camera, they’ll put them on within 10 seconds. Otherwise goodbye to 25% of salary for half a year (even if there is no other problem at all).
@TheDivineInfidel
Could you explain to me what is the issue with this?
When we introduced “no benefits for anyone who hasn’t worked here for 2 years” - notwithstanding if Czech or foreign, it was an immensely popular move here. It forces the young people to really look for work after they finish school. And at the same time it immediately stopped all EU’s benefit shoppers, especially from Slovakia and Bulgaria.
Why would it be such a hard pill to swallow for Brits?
Well we want 4 years here before migrants can claim benefits . Personally I agree that should also apply for british school leavers . HOWEVER we have to accept people are falling preganant younger these days and other social issues . In which case the state has to step in to support these families/individuals .
Which is fine when that person is a citzen of this country , but not so fine when they have come to this country with no means of supporting themselves then throw themselves at the state for support .
Personally I don’t think migrants should get any benefits at all . No free healthcare , no job seekers , no housing benefit , nothing until they gain british citizenship as these benefits should apply only to British citizens
It seems that getting a gun in UK is anything but a straightforward process as you described.
You will have to narrow it down …258 pages
It’s an application form with 3 referees , doctors signature to say you’re fit and a home visit to go through your form and check where you intend to store it
