The fact that it is possible at all is stupid. The fact that your vote, and your elected official’s votes potentially do not count is stupid.
Well, should the 2A be repealed, it would be also majority decision process.
A decision made by Czechs or people from all over Europe?
A decision made by the elected representatives of European Union citizens.
@thedivineinfidel @sirwarriant @ProkyBrambora
Guess who’s girlfriend just passed concealed carry license exam?
So you have no sway over the decision then?
congrats (20 fucking characters)
About as much as you do about Senate and Congress majority decisions on changes of US constitution.
Maybe a little bit more actually because the Czech government instructs the Czech Councilman how to vote, so his vote may closely reflect Czech views, while US Senators vote of their own mind.
Then, because it is only a directive, the Czech Parliament has to enact a local law to put that directive into effect. Which also leaves some place for interpretation that is more in line with local customs (for example only the Czech Republic and Estonia have firearms owned mostly for self defense, while elsewhere you need to be member of a shooting/hunting club and own them for the respective purpose).

No sway at all . The representatives in the EU parliament are different to our national ones , so the Czech vote isn’t worth the paper it’s written on .
The left are the majority in the EU , they will vote it through .
The EU is run very similarly to China’s parliment (no joke )
We elect members of parliment . However the actual government of the EU (the commission ) is voted for by the members of Parliament . So they are not elected by the people .
The commission like any government , propose laws and the parliment vote on them .
(In simple terms )
Do you even vote for the EU officials who make the decisions? I don’t believe you do, here you vote the senator or congressmen who has the same views as you, who wants to pass laws you agree with. So no its not even comparable.
It is commission and COUNCIL voting on laws.
Council consists of representatives of member states governments.

Incorrect . The parliment votes on laws , the commission proposes laws and the council which is made up of the heads of state from each nation , set the agenda and direction of the EU
http://europa.eu/eu-law/decision-making/procedures/index_en.htm
National parliaments can formally express their reservations if they feel that it would be better to deal with an issue at national rather than EU level.
thats basically all you have done , publicly and formally expressed your disagreement .
however unless the council and parliament agree on amendments or to block it (wont happen ) you have no power to stop it going to parliament and being voted in .
it is also a directive which means you HAVE to comply , within 3 years of it being passed
Member States officially must enact Directives into national law, in a way that satisfies the objectives of the Directive
if you fail to do this your country would be fined , if you still fail to make it national law , the EU will simply make it a regulation in which case , they overrule your parliament completely and it becomes a direct law
It’s the same in this respect . To put it simply , we vote for the members of congress but not the president or the ruling party for that matter
Shots being fired tonight .
Then boris came back with a punch
now talk mildly to her and make no sudden movements. (especialy in that time of a month)
Sorry, I meant parliament + council, of course.
You do not vote for the head of the EU though. That would be like Americans not voting for the president, like @TheDivineInfidel that’s what the authoritarian regime of China does.
Americas system doesn’t sound much different then the parliaments you have over, there. The people elect the leaders to represent them, and pass laws they agree with, or veto laws they don’t agree with.
A question for both you and @TheDivineInfidel, who elects your national leader, the people or the parliament?
He is correct though, there are no police no go zones, in areas that are controlled by Muslims. I doubt he was knocking the British government, just Radical Islam.
What happens if they don’t enforce the law and defy the EU?
Neither do we vote for the prime minister - and that is the real deal maker.
The outcome of that is that you don’t get the most important office to a person that has no backing in parliament. Deadlock between president and parliament the way you have it now is the last thing anyone needs.
The European Commission may bring an action to the European Court of Justice which will decide on whether the implementation has been done correctly or not. If not, the country is liable to pay a daily fee for every day it hasn’t implemented the directive.
