From a recent court proceedings against a bunch of thugs that tried to rampage a wrong pub in Pilsen (that is where the Pilsner beer was first developed and were the original is still brewed).
“Did you feel threatened during the attack?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because I had a pistol, type Vektor, on me at the time.”
“I knew that the attackers are not very intelligent.”
“Why did you think so?”
“I had a 30 cms long pistol on my hip and he came armed only with a pckax handle.”
“What were you doing in the moment they attacked?”
“I was holding my pistol.”
“And what was doing the waitress?”
“She was holding her pistol.”
“You both have pistols?”
“We are all armed. We are just a such pub.”
“How did the attacker behave?”
“Like a swine.”
“Sir!?”
“Like an imbecile.”
“SIR!?”
“OK, OK… I don’t know how to describe it then.”
Attacker’s defense attorney: “Did you want to use the gun?”
“Yes.”
“You mean against the charged?”
“Yes.”
“Like… you wanted to shoot him?”
“Yes.”
“Oh… OK…”

At least the refugees started learning German.
The new Polish government just made it their priority to up the armed forces to 150.000 soldiers.
Isn’t that the number the UK now has? I guess that the Poles might in the end need the UK to send some of their workers back so that they get enough people for the new 50.000 positions. @thedivineinfidel
Good for them, sounds like they don’t need NATO troops over there. If they truly are one of the stronger military forces in NATO, then wouldn’t it make more sense to send troops to the weaker countries?
You mean those that don’t need it at all due to their geographical position? Do you suggest Portugal or Slovenia?
The idea of military presense is deterrence. The troops in Germany and Italy do not serve this function well (although their capabilities have gotten better with the pre-positioning of their heavy gear).
But anyways, neither Portugal nor Slovenia, or the Czech Republic for that matter, are asking for NATO military presense.
If we’re putting troops in countries for their “geographical position”, why not places troops in the Baltic states? They’re right next to Russia and would be steam rolled in about five seconds without outside support.
That’s what I’ve been saying all along.
Does that mean that you finally agree with me?
BTW, in the latest interview wiht German magazine BILD Putin said that “he is not concerned with borders, only with where the Russian people are.” (Funnily enough something along those lines said Hitler to Chamberlain when soliciting British and French support for invasion of Czechoslovakia)
Wink wink Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland.
Two days, actually, according to the current chief of NATO military committee.
No personally, i think its a waste of time and resources. If Russia wants those countries 30,000 U.S troops with some tanks and jet or two, is not going to stop an army of 500,000 with close to 10,000 tanks and hundreds of air craft at their backs.
Also i see no reason for Putin to invade any of those countries. Ukraine makes sense since Russia has a naval base in Crimea, but what would he want with the Baltic states?
I wasn’t being literal. Anyway that really shows how unprepared and weak they are. I don’t want to hear the small country excuse, look at Israel, their military is extremely powerful.
I think an all out military invasion is unlikely to begin with. They would probably use the same tactics they used in Ukraine. Enflaming the Russian populations in those countries and giving them military support. But i highly doubt that would be effective in a NATO country, seeing how if a rebellion in one of those countries started to get out of control the rest of NATO would be in there to crush it about five seconds.
Well that won’t work now. After Ukraine, not only Baltic security forces are ready for exactly this kind of scenario, but that is also what the NATO’s Rapid Deployment Forces are for now (we just doubled our number of soldiers to 1.500 - i.e. these are soldiers that are 24/7 prepared to be in full combat within 48 hours).
BTW, how do you like this?

I see two of the worst presidents this country has ever had. I’m still confused as to why you seem to think i like Bush.
However that picture is propaganda, so i’d dismiss it.
Unemployment rates were very high throughout his entire presidency, they only began to drop in recent years.
The cost of gas is hilarious, it has nothing to do with who’s president, cheap gas if I’m not mistaken is due to the sanctions places on Russia, not Obamas economic policies.
Gdp growth is quite terrible for both, but that nice picture doesn’t show the horrible drop that occurs doing Obamas presidency, where it was in the negative numbers, in fact Bush’s peak GDP was much higher than Obamas.
The insured rate is also a funny one. Obama literally forced people to buy insanely expensive insurance, other wise they’ll be fined crippling amounts each year.
So yay for him.
He imported less oil, so i guess that means he was drilling more in the homeland. Funny i thought he was anti oil drilling, and a conservationist.
Teen pregnancy rate, how exactly does the president affect that? I guess more mothers must have killed their babies under him.
Without debating the others - the correlation between sex education and teen pregnancy rates seems to be quite convincing.

Not to jump to any conclusions, but…
It kind of looks like Sweden and Finland also feel that their ass might soon be on fire (neither are in NATO).

@Hellboy posts pic with a little snow in Prague…
Somewhere in the direction of those church towers, there is Clementinum, a place where they are taking temperatures daily for over 200 years.
It seems only fitting that they now concluded that the average temperature last year was the hottest since they measurements began in 1775.
A lot of these are in spite of Obama, not thanks to Obama. A lot of that is because of those evil baby-eating oil companys, and their demonic fracking that is literally Hitler. From 2008-2013 the private Oil and Gas Industry has created more jobs than all other industries combined. It is also worth mentioning the the average wages for the Oil and Gas Industry is pretty much double of other industries. At the start of 2012, America had about 1300 oil and natural gas rigs, and produced about 8,000,000 barrels of oil per day, today we still have about 1300 oil and natural gas rigs, but now we make about 12,000,000 barrels of oil per day. America is now the biggest energy producer on the planet, despite the 42.4% decrease of new leases granted for federal lands by Obama as opposed to Bush. From 2009-2014 oil production on federal lands dropped by 8% and natural gas dropped by 28%, but private production rose by 61% and private natural gas jumped 33%.
Unemployment rate, cost of gas, oil imported, GDP growth, and most likily DOW Jones are all things that Obama cannot take credit for, but boy does Obama love to take credit for things he didn’t do. With the way he talks you would thing that he personally stormed Osama bin Laden’s compound by himself can killed bin Laden armed only with a Bowie knife.
It is easy to have less uninsured people if you make insurance mandatory whether you can afford it or not. He is responsible, however, for insurance getting more expensive.
6000 Centrifuges is still too much.
