Yes but having a gun like a pistol or shotgun for home defence would work better than an ice axe. I would only use my axe if he got close.

Society collapsed so the ex police military and other government with guns would use them. So if they decided that you had something they wanted your ice axe isn’t going to be much help.

But you have to take into account that the streets would be clogged. A 15 minute trip in a car could take hours even a day in an event like that if all utilities stopped working. Also the 9 million people living in the city would be trying to get out just like you.

How ever given your millitary background you would have a better chance at survival.

We just had a case in which a SWAT team - with judicial warrant - was breaking through a front door. The homeowner (Serbian) feared they are some thieves/killers and shot through the door with his legally owned pistol. The bullet went just below a vest of one of the officers and hit him in the belly - he survived OK.

The homeowner first got 6 years, then 4 years imprisonment on appeal.

The original charges for which the warrant was issued never sticked.

I would make it very clear that they would be coming into the rain of fire unless they present warrant. As I already pointed out, even SWAT would need a bit of time to get through my door. After they lost the advantage of surprise, I would hope they would abandon forced entry against armed homeowner - me.

In short, if I can help it, nobody is getting into my flat without warrant, no matter what.

Guys, just to amuse you. On the issue of SWAT entry.

Couple of years ago, a high profile murderer escaped from maximum security prison (he gained the reputation for being the only person to escape from there in some 300 years, I am not sure if that is truth, but definitely the only one in past 50 years).

The cops located him a couple of weeks later in some flat. They went for forced entry through the windows and doors at the same time.

While they were climbing down, one of the neighbors realized there were armed men on the ropes behind her window. She reacted immediately by cutting the rope!!! Here is a sequence from a movie about the murderer.

(He is shouting “come on, shoot me” when they have him)

Surprised they didn’t shoot her so I think the Czech SWAT deserve some praise their imagine if the was the US police  prob blow the fucking house up

I imagine their argument was that she shot too soon and should of gave the person behind the door a chnace to surrender

In the movie the cop on the rope says “don’t shoot her, I’ll be on the spare rope”. In reality she made one cut into the rope when a cop from the roof shouted at her it is a police action, after which she went away from the window. The sniper later told at court that even though he knew the fall would kill the cop on rope, he wouldn’t expect he could get an order to shoot her.

She got suspended sentence. The court argued that whatever she thought, she couldn’t justify cutting a person off a rope in a height that would clearly kill him.

The court said that he should not have shot at a person he didn’t identify first. At the same time had he looked out from a window, it would be clear to him it is a police action since the SWAT was clearly marked as “police” (it was all filmed from the cops’ cameras).

The fourth rule of gun use. Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

The interesting part was that the guy’s gun jammed after the only shot. My guess is limp-wristed Glock. One of the many reasons I prefer CZ.

A similar case like that happen in the U.S. Two cops broke a guys door down and they had no knock warrant. He didn’t know they were cops and shot and killed one of them.

yea which is another reason i dont like idiots owning guns because they dont wait to see what/who they’re shooting in blind panic just pull the trigger when in reality they should shout a warning that they’re armed and ready and the police would have called back its police or whoever would of most likely run off or shouted that they’re friendly or whatever ,

did they not shout "police " . uk police all shout "police , police " until they have got the suspect under control and it avoids such a confusion

BASTARDS !!! Jeremy Clarkson has been sacked by the BBC .

That means nothing. I wouldn’t care for that. Nobody ever has come at someone shouting “Killer, I am killer, I am coming to kill you.”

If it is house entry, I want to see warrant from officers in uniform. If it is street takedown, then either I am on ground before I know it, or I presume they are fake cops. Because no real Czech cops let you have time to draw a gun if they are coming to arrest you.

They don’t have to in no knock warrants. Its complete bullshit. And guess why they were busting his door down? He didn’t show up to court for a speeding ticket.

Another case ill bring up. A cop knocked on somones door recently and a 10 year old kid came to the door with a wii remote in his hand. The officer thought it was a gun and shot the kid dead. Im pretty sure all she got a was a suspension. too.

Thats what happens most of the time. Remember 95% of violent crime stopped with a gun is non lethal. How ever you do have a point and i believe that people should be required to take a gun safety course before owning a fire arm. Thats how it worked in my family.

no no , ill post a video of what i mean

skip to 1.25

thats just fucked , how you can mistake that especially on a young kid
