80%…suppose that’s possible…looks like a $ to me but i am on 800x600 on a monitor that is 1900xsomething so everything is a bit hard to read. wonder why i don’t seem to get any rest from those then…
I absolutely agree on this point. I spend an our trying to get from the mining camp back to the city (because darkness really befalls you), ending up with my horse in the river (so I had tons of enjoyable time: dismount -> weapon (torch) -> oh there is a way -> mount (in the dark, not even knowing if I am straight on the horse) -> finding myself in the river again … )
Now, I like the night in this game, as it really feels like what night is when you are in a forest. However, sometimes there are faint light sources (or you can even see the moon) and it is equally as dark as finding myself in the deepest forest (so perhaps some more variable lighting can be done by programming, rendering a more ‘natural’ feel).
Secondly, for most part night time now means sleepy time because you cannot see a damn thing, and getting my torch out means that everyone goes nuts (oké if I would mean this figuratively, I get why you want to get the bailiff on my arse). Perhaps it is usefull to have an independent torch carrying mode that does not freak out everyone (and why not riding with a torch?)
You can ride with a torch (glitch perhaps?) but if you mount and draw your “weapon 1” while the mount animation is in progress you will have an active torch. (Weapons still won’t work while mounted, but you can have them equipped).
You can also have only the torch out at night (just untag the sword/axe/mace when you tag your torch).
oké, going to try that out (thank you for letting me feel even more stupid in the middle of a river )
sounds like a glitch.
also i hate removing my weapon to use the torch…was wondering the forest at night without my sword (in case i came upon someone who didn’t want to bury their sword in my throat) came to prpdlkansdfiu and some guy was shouting at me in some barbarian speak so i go into my inventory to equip my sword and shield (it was daytime by now but i hadn’t changed my equipment) when i equipped the sword i suddenly had a new status…looked like hungry…looking back probably gut wound…then another showed up like a drop of blood…figured i was bleeding…wondering if i failed equipping my sword and stabbed myself in the gut left the inventory and seen two folks had decided they REALLY didn’t like me.
Problem is that time does not stop while you are in the inventory so that barbarian likely hit you
i got him back…well not him but some of his kind (never found that town again…i know where it is i just…there were flowers ok!) two of those bastards coming out at me, still died by stabbing but i had to run away more often to keep em going in a line.
by the way…is it normal or wished by the game designers to wait that long time for sleeping/resting?
It has been said already this was an optimization problem. The game needs time to simulate the world and npc’s actions and decision while you sleep or skip time. This operation is still not optimized and should be must faster in final release.
okay thank you
