The yellow dot!

There’s going to be some compromise to gameplay. Some kind of visual cue to tell you how and why you’re missing your target with arrows would be a most welcome toggle.

Therefore an option to shut it off

Even, if they won’t make a special option for it, i guess, we can shut it off with console command. :face_with_monocle:
But still, i think, that dot is useful thing.

I remember them saying it is only for the beginning.

I don’t recall disagreeing with the ability to shut it off. Maybe somebody could correct me on that.

The game will be mod-able anyway. GUI mods are quite common in gaming for titles like this. I know we’re all anxious for the game but take a deep breath.

This is what Sir Robard says during the archery tutorial.

When you get a better bow the arrows will fly so fast that you won’t seem them. A very good desing choice.

Ok somehow I oversee that, the reason to train with the bow from the early beginning

Kinda ambiguous if you ask me, i wouldn’t interpret that as the arrow trails disappearing as you level up, seems just like a comment towards how much stronger real bows are compared to the training bow.

Also, as to how levelling up in computer games usually goes, wouldn’t it make more sense to actually get the arrow trails as you level up to allow for more consistent long range archery as opposed to guesstimating. With getting rid of arrow trails as you level up seems to me that it would simply make the whole experience more difficult which is not consistent with how things ought to get easier as you get more skilled…

Some people like it hard and don’t like those trails. I found the arrow flight in the beta good enough, we could see the arrow even without the trails.

I hope i didn’t sound like i am a fan of the trails, i was merely trying to point out flawed reasoning and wishful thinking.

Already argued about it with @warhorse team. When I asked to include an option to turn it off/hide it, they said it has “the least priority”. So don’t expect to play without it…

I didn’t support it in Kickstarter to be disregarded and wait for modders to do what the devs were supposed to do.

I’ll be enjoying the game, while others will be upset and pulling their hairs out, over a tiny yellow spec on the screen. How could I join you all in your misery?.. I know! I want an emerald greed spec and not a yellow one, because green is my favorite color. If they don’t change it to green, I’ll… I’ll… I’ll do something to get even with this evil world!:rofl::rofl:

Beautiful picture.
I’m not saying that the game will be shit if there is a constant yellow dot in it.
I’m saying it would improve the game if the yellow dot disappeared when it isn’t needed.
That’s all. We should all work on improving the game, shouldn’t we?

Well, it does work like that already.

There is yellow dot when you need it - E.G travelling world, interacting with objects. It disappears when you don´t need it. When shooting bow, reading, eating, sleeping, in inventory and on map

Really?
When you walk around in the forest you need the yellow dot?

Sure, what if you want to pick a herb, pickup arrow from the ground or loot an animal? Its frustratingly hard without that dot

If you don´t need it, take your bow and the dot is gone…
