Things I would like to see changed/added

Hello.

I’ve been playing this game more or less constantly since release, and while I regret I didn’t wait a couple of months for bugfixing etc, I’m still very satisfied with the game so far. While playing the game I’ve kept a list on things I would like to see improved, added or changed.

Fix pop-ins.

Better Wildlife AI.

More horse riders in the world. I know horses were not common, but Henry shouldn’t be the only one riding around. One should see a messenger passing by in full gallop as well as nobles. Carriages led by merchants.

Merchants hiring people (Henry) for protection when leaving town to sell elsewhere. This would require adding carriages. If not random ones you see while traveling yourself, at least for this feature. You’ll have to follow them on foot/horse the entire way and if it’s long you’ll camp with them. Sometimes an ambush might happen, others not.

Fix flickering, especially during full moon and sometimes at dawn/sunrise.

Being able to speak while sitting on your horse.

Weapon collision.

Public executions.

Reduce sharpness on grass/Add sharpening slider on grass.

More different random encounters.

While exploring, it would be nice if you would enter a house and there would be a bandit or two there. Roaming gangs of bandits/cumans on the road/in the forest.

When guards want to search you for stolen goods, they should check your horse as well if you have it with you.

Tournament/Arena with an option to fight to the death.

Being able to knock on peoples doors.

More random talk from NPC’s e.g more merchants shouting out what they’re selling, yelling about this and that etc.

Being able to lead your hose.

If you sleep in the forest or in a secluded camp there should be a chance of being robbed/attacked.

More clothes, armors and weapons.

More aggressive enemies who will utilize block more and have 100% gear (so they can take and do more damage). Sure, one would be able to abuse it to get rich quicker but players can create their own house-rules or you could balance economy by reducing the amount of groschen you get for selling items as well as making items more expensive.

General balancing when it comes to damage, armor and perks. Remove Cuman Killer perk.

Less food pots everywhere and when you eat from them, it should only have a tiny amount of nourishment as well as the chance of getting poisoned. Who maintains all of them anyways?

Hard more - Perma death, commit murder and being caught = executed, less food everywhere, very expensive stuff etc.

The need to feed your horse. Horses gotta eat too!

Unique NPC’s like Bernard, Fritz etc should have unique dialogue when entering a conversation with them. They shouldn’t say “Hello Mr. Knight Henry”.

The player gets hold of good gear too fast.

Blood/reactions from killing animals.

Blacksmithing.

Make your weapons shine with a cloth insted of having to use a weaponsmith kit.

More realistic reactions from NPC’/Improved AI. For example, they should react emotionally when you kill their dog instead of just shouting “Guard, help! Over here!”. Or when you shoot an arrow towards an enemy, they run for a bit and then they’re just looking at you for a while before attacking. During an ambush, if you see the enemy hiding in a bush, they should notice that you have seen them and either attack or realize that their advantage is gone and run away.

After 2-3 warnings from guards about putting away your weapon, you should get a fine and your weapon confiscated.

Primary polearms.

I think that’s it for now. It’s a great game and I can’t wait to see what future updates will bring.

I agree with amny of your points but there are a few of those changes i would absolutely hate. The cooking pot system really doesn’t need changing. How it is right now stops a potentially very tedious system from becoming tedious. It isnt like i can just walk into a tavern right now and order food. It seems tehy didnt want to do that extra amount of programming and so to replace all of that they jsut spread pots of food all over. Now technically going in and eating the food from peoples pots should be considered stealing, but their presence doesnt go against reality. It would not be surprising to find stew being slowly boiled over time inside a persons home (they do have to eat after all).

The other one would be feeding your horse. While i know this is another thing that goes against reality, it is for the sake of gameplay and removing tedious tasks. There really isnt much gained by having to physically feed your horse, and in reality you dont actually have to do this very much. A horse can just go off and graze on grass on its own, so arguably you dont need to be the one to feed your horse. Your horse would also recieve food while at many of the keeps since you are in the service of a lord, this means the stable hands would feed your horse for you. So not being able to physcially feed your horse can at least somewhat be explained away, and by not having it be manditory they avoid a system which would be annoying and not really add much in the way of benefits to the gameplay.

I would also like to add that you should be able to ask people around town for directions to places like the blacksmiths. It makes no sense that when i walk into a new town my only option is to blindly wander, rather than find out what types of stores are around from a local.

You may be right. But at least lower the nourishment you gain and if you’re caught eating, you should be fined for stealing. Eating from pots you find in forests should have a chance of poisoning you to add some risk/suspense.

And yeah, I agree with you about feeding the horse. But maybe add an animation for the horse when it’s idle so you can see that it’s actually eating.

Another thing; sound e.g voices, fighting should be heard over greater distances.

I agree with s lot of your list.

New and added encounters is really needed.

most of those are good, some i don’t think are plausible, but tournaments where you can kill people make no sense. the closest thing to that idea would be trial by combat. which i think could be an option for when player gets accused of a crime or something.

True. Didn’t think about the time period.
