Things that must be improved with patch 1.7

I tried a new game with patch 1.6 and hardcore mode and there is still a lot to improve:

The first what I saw when starting a new game was a message screen “You died” with a text and i had to press the continue button to another “You died” screen. What the hell is that? Why have I died in the beginning? In the next step I had to chose two negative skills. That’s unrealistic and does not feel like organic game design. This is very generic. The idea is okay to make the game harder, but the way how it’s done is not professional. The next thing is after I leave the house I still got a tutorial pop-up message that breaks the game to tell me some instructions about hardcore mode. The goal was to make hardcore mode more immersive and there shouldn’t be such in-game message screens!!! You should move this instruction into the main menu to read before starting a new game!!!

Another thing is that the HUD is not really minimalized. Only the health bars are removed, but there are still ugly symbols flying in middle of the bottom screen border and the compass is still disruptive. Please make options in the main menu to give the player the possibility to customize the HUD transparency (and I mean for every single element including the yellow dot) so that everyone can decide what he want to see and what not. No matter wheter to play in normal or hardcore mode.

The next thing is that you removed auto saving for the hardcore mode and you can only save by sleeping IN YOUR OWN bed. please give us at least the possibility to save in other beds too. And make it less a survival simulator, where you have to cook eat all the time. this is a RPG where you should focus on more important things than cooking eat. If you want more realism, add some children into the towns instead, and cats!

Some more general things to improve are mouse support in dialogs to make it more comfortable for PC players to select between answers. And why dialogs have black borders/letterboxes? Make them in full screen for more immersion please!

Add an option to enable the fantastic looking volumetric fog from the Alpha versions.

And the main quest is still bugged and I can’t continue. The bandits that searching for Timmy in Rattay are standing into each other and don’t react to me. The whole quest must get changed. The bandits should go to the butcher where I told them Timmy was there and not to the tavern. It’s also unlogical that the guards won’t stop them at the gate.

Please improve all this in patch 1.7. This is very important for me to make the game a true masterpiece.
Thanks!

Yeah, I didn’t get that, too. By the way, I died twice before the negative perk selection appeared

About the tutorials. You can disable them altogether using a dedicated menu item.

About your bugs. This looks pretty messy and I think you should contact the tech support for it: support@kingdomcomerpg.com. It’s really the best way. Just don’t spam them with too much info in a single request, submit all your issues one by one and don’t forget a save file, so that the developers can reproduce your issues.

It is also good practice before making such a proof save to remove all your mods, if you’re using any, then run Steam re-validation for game files. This function is accessible via the game properties.

LMAO. Timmy is at the farm near the mill, as his sister Mirka told you lol. Telling bandits that he’s hiding in Rattay is an attempt to mislead them and you’re not supposed to follow them (altho it would be great if after that they actually did something in Rattay instead of just standing at the tavern)
I suppose “dying” before the game starts is there to poke fun on players and show us that in medieval times people lived fast and died young and randomly
And if you don’t want ‘survival simulator’ things just don’t play hardcore mode. It’s ridiculous to choose to play hardcore and complain about it being hardcore

No, generally I like the hardcore mode because of minimalized HUD, no tutorials by default and more realistic combat behavior etc. In short words I prefer to have the most immersion. But other things I mentioned totally destroy the experience. I don’t play “Hardcore” to make the game more difficult, but more immersive.

I already mailed the issue with the Timmy bandits to the tech support and of course am I supposed to follow them. That’s one of the choices the bandit told me.

Two deaths at the beginning were joke, cause obviously you are gonna die often in hardcore mode.
You save sleeping in the inns, camping sites and some random beds, also savior schnapps.
Fog is thankfully not there. I didn’t like it and furthermore it would drain a lot of FPS.

No issues here

? I had fog at least once (hardcore). Rain is still as little pixelated but much, much better.

Only problem I got is the dirt and grime and damage don’t appear

Disagreed. Basic needs are one of the most importang things in your life. Even here you don’t need to drink water and keep eye on vitamins.

Schnapps, hm?

Bring back Henry’s health bar. Logically you would know your own health (within reason), but in a game
you don’t have a clue as to your own health. I have no idea of how bad I’m hurt, but in real life I would
at least know that.

You have ‘local injury’ indicators and blood effects on the screen, what are you talking about
And no, people can easily overlook injuries IRL, especially in the heat of action. For that matter I find it ok that you can still check your health in the character screen, but ‘in action’ you can ‘feel’ it only when it ‘hurts’

Agreed. Basically I thought devs will remove indication completely but we have injury indication. That’s enough.

Why people play hardcore being not ready? You just want to turn hardcore into softcore. It is not supposed to be your first playthrough.

It is a shame what I must read here and how people think.
This is a RPG with the goal to focus on the story and the authentic world, not on cooking eat three times a day. This is the wrong way to make a game more realistic. As I said add children in the world if you want to create more realism! Not such annoying survival things that only distract you of enjoying the game.

yes chessqueen, they have that already, it is called the vanilla game. pots to eat from yadda yadda.

the hardcore mode caters to people who want more survival aspects, could it have been executed in a more interesting way sure.

“For that matter I find it ok that you can still check your health in the character screen, but ‘in action’ you can ‘feel’ it only when it ‘hurts’”
Just FYI, seeing as you probably never were critically hurt in you entire life, (Otherwise you’d never made such an incredible nonsensical comment) it hurts for a LONG fricking time, and every time you bloody well move the area that is hurt. which is all the time. You think getting slashed by a blade or stabbed only hurts while the blade is inside you? Taking away the health bar is actually the OPPOSITE of realism seeing as you actually cannot FEEL your character’s injuries and damage… Just as housecat said. I base this on having been stabbed, bludgeoned and shot more than once in combat during my service.
Iow: Personal experience.

@Sterling-Archer that is okay, but hardcore mode has some additional improvements I miss in the normal mode and I would like to have them there too. They should add separate options to customize/remove the HUD for all game modes. Not only having more immersion when playing with hardcore mode. And they may should rename it to survival mode.

Dirt and grime bug my friend dirt and grime

The introductory death screens are a mini-joke. Chill :joy:

You have a 90% chance of dying at the very beginning, but every time you “die,” your odds of survival increase, so you’ll eventually “survive” and get to actually play the game

I want the dirt and damage visuals on clothes and armor back in the game. The lack of it really destroy the immersion factor.

And fix the out of control damage on NPC’s and merchants but keep a slow rate on getting dirty
