OP, this is not a game. Not yet. You’ve only been testing (or trying to) a proof-of-concept to show backers some early tech being worked on currently.
This game is a technical alpha release to test performance and other issues. If you don’t know the difference between “alpha”, “beta” and “release” stages of game development then I understand your frustration, but you should look these up to get a clear idea of what you paid for.
If you do understand these terms then I don’t understand why you paid money for an alpha and expected a working AAA release stage game.
So many answers on a topic the initiant most possibly wont see. No wonder it drifts afar quickly.
Wait, you’re in college and buying 1tb SSDs and money is ‘tight’? Damn dude. Our definitions of cash flow are not aligned.
Ah. I mistook it to be a single correction of two drives vs. one. Not the type of drive as well.
Sorry to ruin your fun, but with the current generation of PC games, NO MORE than 8 GB RAM is EVER required by any of them.
Use a program like CPU-Z and alt+tab during a playthrough. See the history of RAM usage and you will know the truth.
‘More than 8GB RAM’ isn’t any good. I can say you have to get FASTER RAM, which is a whole different thing.
For example, slow ADATA 8 gb RAM working on 1333 mhz is NOWHERE near overclocked GEIL 8 gb RAM working on 2400+ mhz. So, instead of getting more RAM, get faster RAM. You will feel the difference immediately. Kapish
Depending on what you are actually doing with your computer.
And again I am quite certain that anything written after the intial post won’t be read by the initial post’s author… -so why bother?
thanks for clearing it up with forthwist for me
.
I wish i could afford some solids but college is expensive man. especially since i’m in the us.
You are right about the second part - the “why bother” thing.
And you are also right about the first part - the “depending” thing. I will clarify - I said that PLAYING any modern PC game on maximum settings DOESN"T require more than 8 GB of RAM and I’m absolutely right about this. On the other hand, doing other stuff MAY require more than 8 GB of RAM, for example programming, designing and such… but for pure gaming, 8 GB are completely enough.
I am glad we understand each other well
To give another example, my specs:
i7 3770k clocked at 3.50 Ghz
Nvidia 670 2gb graphics card, stock speed
16gb 1600mhz ram
Running max settings at a comfortable 50fps. No stutter whatsoever.
