Recently got a new desktop, and I’m wondering if these specs will be good enough.
i7 8700k 3.8 GHz (oc to 4.5)
16 GB Corsair VENGEANCE lpx (upgrading to 32 later on)
MSI Z370 Gaming Carbon Pro AC Motherboard
GTX 1070 Founders Edition

Not enough to start a your own space program. Sorry.
but mah fps
Oh-h-h, i just bought 8700k as well, so what temperature do you’ve in games with 4.5Ghz and which voltage?
Do you have Wind cooling or Water?
You put the motherboard, really??? The only game you playing here is fappy birds. Fapping off to your pc specs.
Founders edition cards are for mini cases needing the blower style to exaust out the back. I would bet you have a teeny tiny one.
But see… you don’t ? coz that’s a standard atxboard. So why would you have a founders edition card. Because just like that shitty founders edition cards you are not good at being cool… you like to blow …hot air.
Perhaps you were genuinely askin. In that case apology accepted.
Why are you being such an asshole?
I added the motherboard because I could, not to “fap” to my fucking specs.
The beta for the game required some high end specs to even run at high settings at a playable frame rate, and I was only fucking asking if these would do for high settings.
Oh, and based on your past posts on specs and stuff like this, you will continue to be an arrogant prick. If all your going to do is insult my post and not answer my questions reasonably, then leave.
Geez you really need to calm yourself.
Just calm down. He baited you.
And back to my question: What temperature do you’ve on 4.5 Ghz and what voltage? I’ve the same CPU and want to know, would it be good to OC it without getting +85C
My 8700k gets not as hot as everyone says, at base it would stay idle at around 35 degrees and 40-60 while playing certain games.
While at 4.5 GHz, it would idle at 40-45 degrees, and would go to 50-80 on certain games. Though I haven’t seen it go to 80 and stay there, usually it would be a spike. The thing is you should have a decent enough cooler for it and maybe 3 or more fans as I have a dark rock 3 and 5 fans.
I’m worried about kc:d if it’s a very cpu-demanding game, it could get the 8700k too hot even for me.
Oh-h-h, i see. Then should i buy a watercooler? I wanted to get Be quiet! Silent Loop 360mm, but i thought, it’s gonna be fine CPU, if i OC it to 4.5Ghz, but if you say so, then… R.I.P
You definetly want a cooler that can pack a punch for the cpu. I mean my dark rock 3 is fine, and I got it for how silent it is.
You could get a water coole, but you aren’t getting the space for more fans.
But definitely get one that packs a punch
I want to buy Noctua NH-D15, i hope it’s gonna be fine for 4,5 Ghz.
If it’s not specificly made for being silent, then it’ll cool better than my dark rock 3. Plus it’s Noctua, and they are one of the best companies to make coolers.
Yeah, i know. I’ve their cooler right now, but it’s from my old PC on 4690k(it’s a good CPU even today, but it’s a bit dead after rendering).
You should balance the amount of money you spend on CPU and Cooler. Possibly sell that 4690k.
It’s dead, ha-ha.
Try Goodwill?
I wish i had your setup
Go to Newegg.com they sell a bunch of stuff to build your own pc for a good price, even cheaper than buying an already built one. But I recommend this one, which is the one I have. I didn’t buy it, it was a gift when I graduated a year ago from high school, I still use it and I love it, it’s not super high tech or sentient, but it runs well. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-1400-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-1tb-hard-drive-black-red/5848610.p?skuId=5848610&ref=212&loc=1&ksid=cc3de13b-fb1e-4e91-b041-ecb1f362e2a6&ksprof_id=8&ksaffcode=pg199028&ksdevice=m&lsft=ref:212,loc:2
Or try to read some overlockers forums or something like that about PC stuff. Knowledge is the power.
And never buy already built PCs, cus you’re paying more, than its costs + You’ll know, how to built it by yourself and it might be useful(Who knows…).
This is true, but in my case it was a gift. I do recommend building your own. Watch video tutorials, before you spend money on stuff you hardly understand.
