Hi guy’s/girl’s, since the new DLC containing Easter eggs(the real colored ones) I thought you guys might want to know this little fun fact back in the middleages.
Since the Middle Ages during Lent the consumption of meat, milk and eggs was banned by the church, but at the same time the hens of course didn’t stop them from laying eggs in spring so more eggs where available than usual, so there was an excess of eggs. In order not to spoil the popular food, the eggs were boiled and thus preserved longer. So the rent payable at Easter was settled in many regions with eggs. The remaining eggs were traditionally dyed on Holy Saturday and taken to the church for consecration. The consecrated eggs were then distributed as gifts and later hidden. To this day, one holds on to this tradition. Especially children looking for colorful eggs on Easter Sunday will delight.
I wish you all a wonderful Easter and happy gaming during some days off.
