Time sensitive quests

I remember leading up to the game’s release, the devs talked a lot about how if you didn’t complete certain steps of a quest in a relatively timely manner, you would either fail the quest or see different outcomes. I’ve really only run into one or two of these instances as far as I know. Has anyone experienced a lot of failed side quests or what-not due to this mechanic? I’m really not seeing it as prevalent as the devs indicated it would be.

How do you know if its a timed quest. I heard there is a sandglass in the questlog?

I think it’s fortunate that they’re not too prevalent, as we’d have tons of complaints from the average gamer if that had been the case. I also like it that the few I’ve seen are not indicated as such in some artifical manner but rather that it makes sense within the context of the mission.
