Timescale suggestions for sleep/time skip

In my humble opinion, they are a way too out-scaled. What I mean is that a virtual hour of sleep/time skip takes around 30 seconds of real time, that is leaving me with 4-6 minutes of doing literally nothing while I seat and wait for the night to pass. Is it possible to adjust the timescale of this? Say, at least 3 times faster? I don’t mean right now, of course, but as a matter of suggestion for the release of the game.

Hi,
Right now in beta the sleep is slow not because it was designed as such, but because there has to be a lot of things computed on the background.
So right now there is not much of a chance making it quicker.

But in the future when the game gets more optimized the shleep should be much, much more quicker.

sleeping / time skipping currently takes too long because of sophisticated AI which they are optimizing for the final version so it should be much quicker. When you sleep, the whole world is simulating in the background.

Gentlemen,
Thank you very much for this clarification. It is a relief to hear that

We want to make the Skip time as fast as possible of course, this game should not be about waiting. This is a technical issue right now

It would be preferrable (IMO) if the passage of time during the day (when not engaged in time consuming activities) would be much slower. As it is it takes much of the day just moving a few km. Also conversations take many hours to complete (mid-afternoon start, night time end), which is annoying if you haven’t had a chance to buy food and scout out a bed in a new location.

With fewer “nights” forced on the player (though you do still need to rest to recover injuries and once per “day” for fatigue mitigation), the slower passage of time in resting is also reduced in importance.

I don’t mind the current amount of time the night takes to pass, if the day was increased to be a bit longer. Make the sun come up an hour earlier and go down an hour later, and increase “the length of an hour” by about 25% and that should do it. Sleeping 12 hours each night because there is not much to do at night is sleeping way more than is necessary to become fully rested.

Also, some of the villagers sure do sleep late! Having to hang around town for an hour or two waiting for the merchant to open his shop wastes a lot of time. I know they did not have alarm clocks back then, but that is why they need to get up and get to work when the old rooster crows–at daybreak!

I agree with that  basically currently sunset is about 6pm, and sunrise around 6am, which is utter bullshit when the game is supposed to be mid summer  So sunrise at 4-5am, and sunset around 8-9pm would be ideal, it would make the usable part of the day MUCH longer.

I also hope that the current day/cycle is not final. I agree with you all here. Hours should be longer and the sun sets to early and rises to late, especially for summer time.
How cool would it be, if sometime later in the game or even in the other acts, this would change realisticly depending on seasons. I also hope for moon phases.

That is good to know. I just pledged and started playing the beta and the time skip takes way, way too long. I understand things are going on in the background but hopefully when it’s optimized it will be much shorter.
