Tips for the players to help the developers

I’ve finally decided to give up on this game after finally figuring out why I was having so much trouble with it.

I had struggled with data collection in this game since I installed it. 95% of the time the game provides me with all of the data I need to finish a quest. As in, where to go, who to talk to, and what to accomplish. The other 5% is where i continuously ran into problems finding data. I would then come to the forums, or reddit, and ask people. Very often people would tell me “the game doesn’t hold your hand”. That’s one I heard a lot. The problem is, the game was holding my hand 95% of the time, and i got used to it. The game always told me where to go, who to talk to, and what to do. It was the random inconsistency i had a problem with. There’s a problem with data collection, and it needs to be addressed. For those of you who were able to complete the game without any guides, forums or help, congratulations. I’m extremely impressed and overwhelmed by your paralyzing measure of skill.

My advice would be for folks to actually acknowledge this issue with the game, as it’s more than likely leading to a lot of rage quits, and folks who are hesitant to recommend the game, or even play it themselves. There needs to be some level of consistency so that players can develop a routine, or formula to extra data from the game and complete quests. Stop telling people the game doesn’t hold your hand, because it’s holding mine 95% of the time.

There were some instances I had with not knowing where to go next, some missions I just left, others I figured it out eventually.

Part of me liked that everything was not so obvious.

My biggest issue with the missions, was not the ones that were lacking in clear direction.

It was the amount of ones that went nowhere or when I finished them I would think “is that it”… Most the romance ones ended like this. One too many felt really anti climactic, hell the actual ending did this too. I probably hold them to higher standard to be fair, Skyrim was littered with boring fetch quests.

You should be able to find data in game but it isn’t necessarily bad if you get stuck on one quest, someone ele made a walkthrough, you read his instructions, then go on without more guides. The game doesn’t really have 5% of unguided quests, it might be two quests or so. The rest of the game, you are nearly late-game, is pretty straightforward. The issue there was with repeating quests and people wanted to complete all of them but I think those quests are activities.
