Too dark to see Anything

Even with windows, and candles nearby, some rooms are pitch-black, like if you half a mile down a mineshaft:

People’s eyes adjust to darkness pretty well, and you can see a lot from even a few photons of light. But even adjusting my brightness up, I can’t see even the most basic of shapes.

This makes it totally impossible to interact with the environment at night. I assume that’s a bug, since being able to be a thief and rob people at night appeared to be part of the game’s design.

You have to use potions to see better in the dark. Super realistic.

its still a game, I like the night vision potion and crafted 20 of them
you cant have 100% realism this wont even be fun.

what I think is annoying though is the alchemy table in rattay is too dark imo

im using torch while thieving except while stealing something or lockpicking. those people will not notice you as long you not make any noise.

A night-vision potion should make it easier, but it shouldn’t be completely necessary. Having to rob houses with a burning torch is… kind of odd, but not altogether unheard of. Normally it’s just a candle, for an inexperienced burglar.

Go to settings and turn up the gamma, you can even turn up your brightness on your TV, but the game is ment to be dark so make night vision potions or buy them or stay in the moon light

My gamma is already much higher than intended. Character show up bright as day in that pitch darkness. Nothing else does.

Gamma is bugged… like basically everything else in the graphical settings. If you touch the gamma correction slider (ever), it screws up gamma for good. I think a reinstall is the only thing confirmed to fix the issue. Mine is bugged right now but and I’m about to reinstall. I can’t even see the emblem on the gamma slider no matter how much I move it at this point. Just a black circle.

Interior darkness is messed up, no matter how much you or anyone else tries to defend the game. I’ve been to barns where both huge doors are wide open and despite it being midday and extremely sunny virtually n0 light seeps into the barn, that’s just not reality.

Come on, I like that it’s pitch black, it reminds me of when I lived out in the country. Torches actually have a use in this game! Not many games do this, I thought it was neat. Gives a reason not to adventure during the night and actually go to bed.

Sorry maybe I misread, if you’re talking about some bug, sure.

There’s Just a minor bug with light getting through Doors. Especially in the Woods the darkness ist really realistic.

IRL a torch would allow you to see further than 2 feet in front of you.

Well i’d say torches give you outside Like 3m around your character. Insider they may bei Buggy, But IT also wouldnt bei wide to Walk with a burning Stick in a wooden House.
real torches wouldnt give you that much more light.

Yes I’m talking about interiors during daytime, obviously I expect the night to be dark
