Traders gone broke?

Hello Forum,

I was wondering, if the traders, smiths and craftsmen might be buggy or broken somehow.
It used to be the case, that they had a reasonable amount of money at hands to purchase the stuff you …erm…‘found’ on the mysterious dead bodies you…erm…‘found’ in the forrests.

If you kept selling stuff to your favourite traders, they usually seemed to replenish their wealth and even grow it by a bit over time, if you kept coming back selling to them.

Seemed to make sense, if they sold the loot you brought to them with a profit ‘off camera’.

But now, it seems the vendors NEVER replenish their wealth, or only every have pitiful amounts of cash.

Especially with big player Hagen Konrad and the Armourers, it’s ridiculous. They don’t have ANY money at all anymore, or at best 35 or 150 groschen.

It’s like a car salesman having 20 cars for 30.000 Dollars each in the yard, but being unable to afford a 50 dollar sweater.

Is this some weird update, or is this a known bug?

It -really- makes it nigh impossible to financially recover from the maintenance and food expenses of an encounter with bandits etc.

when a new patch comes out it resets the traders and you have to build them up again
also, i find that after you leave the monastery the traders dont seem to keep their money, best to make bank before entering the monastery

I have basically finished the game and keep it as a cheap vacation place to escape my busy shitty real life. Bohemia is much more idyllic than where I live.

And I have sold stuff to Hagen until he was at 0 Groschen, and now for a month in game, I keep visiting him and he simply does not get a single groschen back.

It’s because I keep stealing all his money before you arrive! :yum:

There are two scenarios:

  • He has no money because you stole his money.
  • He has no money because you outbilled him, so he has stuck the items you sold.

For first scenario trade with him.
Second scenario try this: Arrive Rattay at sunset, spend one night in Rattay, no time skips, don’t leave city (if you get bored, go stealing everybody and everything except his store - don’t get caugh XD). Then, at morning go visit Hagen Konrad. He has replenished his store and sold your items, so, he should have 150 groschen plus your items sold.

Cheers.

For PC nobility there are 2 mods in Nexus mods for KCD that up the $$$ they have and replenish to that level in a reasonable amount of time.

I use one that does this and use the 20K G version.
Only drawback is that the mods may interfere with ashes dlc. I don’t have Amourus so I can’t say on that.

I wouldn’t mind them slowly getting back to stock, but it seems the armourers and HAgen, who used to have decent amounts of cash, thanks to dealing with expensive armour or just plain large scale trading (Hagen) do not refill at all anymore.

a single well armed bandit has several k groschen worth of armour on him, and they usually try to ambush me in numbers between 3 and 8

Me too, don’t like mods.

Without mods Hagen has 150 Groschen start, more groschen only if you trade with him and give him time (one night) to sell those items.

Did you wait in Rattay as I told you??? Never fails for me…
