Trees, NPCs, rocks constantly poping into existance 5 feet or so infront of me

NPCs and other world assets will literally pop into existence less than 10 feet away from me. It’s VERY obvious and immersion breaking. Sometimes i will even hit these NPCs with my horse as they pop-in while galloping on my horse.

I tried googling this issue but i’m not finding any similar results. I’m just finding results for texture pop-in, which does not seem to be an issue for me. I’m also having an issue with stuttering which i think is related to the pop-in problem. As i don’t have a single core at 99% like the other people with stuttering are reporting. While monitoring my Frametimes i see they frequently go well above 1000ms, i would like to know what is causing this. (For those that don’t know: high Frametimes = bad feeling game, low Frametimes = good feeling game)

I have tried the “texture streaming fix” from Nexus but it didn’t solve my problem. It also seemed to make my stuttering worse. Lowering my settings actually made the stuttering and pop-in worse. I have the game installed on an SSD, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and i have the Windows page file disabled. So i’m not sure how i can help the game access assets any faster TBH. I even have shader cache disabled, as that causes stuttering in other games for me.

Looking for any help or suggestions.

What are the actual draw distance sliders in-game set to?

They are currently maxed out. Still stuff popping in. (which is why i decided to post here)

I did try leaving them at the default values when i set the overall settings to “medium” while troubleshooting, it didn’t fix the issue either. (i figured maybe the maxed out LODs and stuff weren’t optimized to be streaming)

Same here on pc latest patch available Max Settings 1070gtx 7700K clocked to 5ghz.
Cheers.

I appreciate the reply. I feel a bit that better i’m not alone with this.

You definitely have a faster CPU and GPU (congrats on the 5GHz BTW  ) So its definitely not a CPU or GPU limitation on my part. That’s nice to have confirmed. I was about to whip out my old 2500K @ 4.5 GHz to test if i was CPU limited on Ryzen (pretty unlikely though, especially when you compare the two).

I’m experiencing object pop-ins as well. It seems to have increased lately, or I’m just imagining things. Galloping I see rocks, road formations, horse shit etc pop-in. It certainly happens when running/walking as well but obviously not as much/as noticeable. When riding grass is constantly popping in, or more like “rendering” as you go. In Uzhits, or whatever it’s called, I stood beneath the scaffold (pillory) right next to it, nothing was on the floor but as soon as I climbed up apples appeared.

Texture LOD pop ins is present as well but far, far from as prevalent, in fact I rarely notice it. I know a few objects, e.g one type of wagon (ones like the one outside Miller Peschek’s house) have noticable LOD pop in and spots of roads.

This happens even with all draw distance settings set to max.

I believe this is happening to everyone. People are either blind or there’s something wrong with nvidia cards. Other games that I’ve played with a friend, e.g Bf1 I noticed some pop ins and I asked if he had the same issue and indeed he had, it popped in at exactly the same spot for him as it did for me. As long as one got sufficient vram, it shouldn’t happen as long as the game is optimized except if it’s intended.

Even with the distance sliders maxed, pop in is horrible lol. You have to manually use the console commasnds to truly increase draw distance of trees and objects etc but the downside is the performance cost is pretty significant.

But no matter what I try, the npc draw distance and their armors etc seem to be locked.
