Legally, it is not a problem to carry a dagger visibly. It is only forbidden during public protests (political demonstrations).
Practically, if you carry a large dagger openly in city (public transportation, etc.) and cops spot you, they might want to tell you to cover it with clothes. If you play with it in your hands people are likely to call cops on you and you may be fined for disturbing public peace.
If you go for a walk/hike outside of city (even with machete visibly on your hip), youâll be fine.

About the dagger, I thought this cold be a nice kind of jewelry. A sword in medieval times was not often used as a weapon, it was often used as a sign of status and strength. But carriging a sword is not practical, a small dagger at the belt would be more nice. With a rich handle. But I have seen that this would be not legal in germany. You can carry knifes open in germany only if the blade is shorter then 12cm and only if it is single edged. hmm⌠and well this would be not a good idea if you want to go out, making party or going to a concert or festival. The times when you want to look the most impressive.
So maybe I will rethink this plan, even if I still like the idea.
