Troll cave II

It’s the age of drones and long range surveillance aircraft . Helicopters with camera that can track an enemy miles on front of them . Don’t for a second think a unit would give chase blindly . [quote=“SirWarriant, post:2859, topic:27880”]
They wouldn’t have to “take land”. They would merely have to kill enough Russian soldiers, and destroy enough equipment to make the war unpopular and too expensive.

That’s a gate that swings both ways . If the Czech people were that resilient that wouldnt have been occupied so many times would they :…oooo I went there

To be fair you’ve been Russia’s bitch before it would come natural for you to simply bend over and take it from your Russian friends anyways . You’ll probably rather enjoy the occupation

Having a rough day, are we?

I look at it from the other perspective.

Despite being occupied by a coalition involving most of Catholic Europe that was hell bound on destroying the language (failed), culture (failed) and religion (succeeded in part - instead of making local protestants catholic, now everyone is atheist) between 1620 and 1918, the country was reestablished, even though the initial Catholic-Habsburg push led to 2/3 population loss (roughly 1/3 killed 1/3 expelled) and was followed by massive German immigration.

Then despite being occupied by a coalition of all surrounding states (Germany, Poland, Hungary) with active support of remaining European powers (France, UK) and losing some 360.000 people, who were mostly targeted national elites (political, science, military), the country was reestablished again (with being the only occupied country where a head of state was executed by Germany for being an active member of local resistance and where the highest ranking Nazi was killed).

Then despite being invaded and occupied by entire Warsaw Pact (bar Romania) and with extreme communist indoctrination… here we are, a beacon of sanity (Austrian and German immigration policies) as well as democracy (recent happenings in Poland, Hungary) in the center of Europe.

We know how to persevere, and it is my opinion that civilian firearm ownership would be very much helpful towards perseverance in future (note: the communist party power takeover would look very much differently if people were armed).

Ever heard of Czechoslovak Legion? It really did not used to be “natural”.

Just that in 1945 Soviets were seen as those who liberated us and many here were suspecious to treacherous France and United Kingdom as well as they were.

Problem is that when hteir army came here to stay in 1968. I think that is clear example. We burned few tanks, switched few road sights. They kille sevral random civilians. And it ends.
That is why Jan Palach, a young student, burned himself at public to point out how numb we have become.

Then i am correct to the majority of your countries people being occupied comes rather naturally

What was the point of funding the Mujahideen in Afghanistan? What was the point of the Russians funding the Vietcong?

To stick it to each other, and weaken the other nation. If for some reason the Russians did invade Europe and managed to occupy the Czech Republic without the world being engulfed in nuclear fire, and without the rest of NATO going to war, i have no doubt we would still fund insurgencies in those occupied countries. That way we could fight the Russians without ever really having to fight them.

Let’s be fair here. The only reason the U.K didn’t get immediately fucked in the ass after France fell in 1940, was because of the water in between you and the German army ( there was only one combat ready divsion in your country when France fell.

Most European nations have been invaded or occupied at one point in their history, only reason you haven’t been is because of the channel.

Never said they would chase them blindly. But if they wanted to go after the insurgents they would have to risk losing choppers or planes. You said yourself no military commander in his right mind is going to risk losing an expensive piece of equipment like that, especially over a few insurgents. If you find out the insurgents have that kind of equipment you’d probably see all aircraft grounded like in Ukraine.

Almost every example in history i can think of, where the occupiers start using brutal tactics to subdue the population, it back fires and creates more insurgents.

The British acting like pricks to the locals in the south during the American revolution is what created an insurgency that had a crippling effect on the British army there.

You guys have been doing some fucking work.

Thanks, we sure are trying.
I still feel that its going waaaay too slow.

But as I mentioned in the torch, two months ago it was much much worse. So its not that slow

From an outside perspective, the things shown in that video are a massive improvement over the current beta, and the things shown at E3. The faces and the armor in particular look amazing.

you would not believe how much a good lighting makes so much of difference.

In some early updates Kuba Holík was talking about it, and he was saying that we don’t want just the “pretty” settings like in Witcher 3.
But we want all of it, for the sake of reality.

So these shots you have seen, look this good mostly because they were taken in controlled environment.
ergo, the game wont look like this all the time. But that will make the special moments even more spacial, won’t it?

I think the over all textures look a lot better. The resolution in the current beta is kinda shit for some things.

Do you think 60 fps will be possible for me at release (gtx 970)? Or is this going to be a CPU heavy game? If that’s the case then i’ll have to upgrade.

Yeah I’ve been at GDS at Prague when he talked about the lighting (even before the Global Illumination KC:D have now)

In the update you mentioned, he talked about different times of the day and that things looks nicer in the morning/evening than at the noon.

I would have to guess. We are still optimizing.

But Id say that 970 is enough. But we should be bit more demanding for CPU, depends what you have.

I have an AMD potato (equivalent to an I5) that runs hot enough to fry bacon on it.

AMD might be a problem. But i5 should be ok.

*Will

some shit bout ten chars.

As long as it doesn’t crash and i get at least 45 fps i think i’ll live.
