Troll cave II

So it seems that the EU Gun Ban will go forward. It will be passed in a way that will leave a lot to national legislators as regards implementation. Which means that little to nothing will change in the Czech Republic.

Now the question is - should I or should I not put € 8.000 into .50 BMG self loading rifle just to be sure? Especially given that I won’t have much opportunity to shoot it in the next couple of years.

I wanted to buy 2008 BMW 7 or 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser next year, so the car plans would have to go :frowning:

I did, not sure if he did.

Well considering London is on high alert for a terror attack at any moment . A report of a man brandishing a knife on an underground train which at this time are rammed packed with thousands of people . It was taken very seriously and the station was evacuated the train line was then suspended while the police searched the carriages of the suspected train one by one .

I wouldn’t describe it as an overreaction of any sort

Ahhh give it a few years . They have picked the slow approach , ease you into it .

I’d sell your guns now while You can still get a good price .

We have general elections next year.

There will be over 10% single issue voters in the elections thanks to the EU Commission. Given normal election turnout and higher motivation of these people to attend, it will translate to some 20% of active electorate. It won’t be a revolution but it will sway the outcome significantly as those people will be spread all across the political lines.

Actually it will be two issues. 1) Preserving status quo on guns despite the Directive. 2) Leaving EU.

Meanwhile it is already Czech Parliamentary consensus that the Directive with grandfathering clause (i.e. current owners can keep the guns, but others can’t purchase them) would be unconstitutional as it would breach the constitutional guaranty of equal rights, so No. 1 looks to be on a good track. (Czech Constitutional Court took the same line of reasoning about primacy of EU law as German - “so lange” - as long as the EU laws are in line with Constitution…)

Even if guns were banned and someone decided to surrender them, they would have to go through standard judicial process of expropriation (another Constitutional Guaranty).

Given the prices that the government pays for land expropriated for highway construction which tend to be several times above the market level as ordered by courts, I would not worry about the financial side of any firearms investments.

If guns were made illegal under EU law then end of story , the highest court is the European court of justice . It has the power to over turn any decision made currently by either of our supreme courts and EU law is supreme . We all surrendered our constitutions the day we joined the EU

That is unfortunately not true. According to the latest info from Dita Charanzova, which is basicaly the only relevant MEP in the whole EU parlament who fights against the crazy gun ban law, Commision just reached agreement with EPP and SD (who hold comfy majority in EP). They agreed on ridiculous things such as selling semi-automatic weapons will be completely banned, while those who already own them can keep them (because it would be too expensive to confiscate them by EU), ban on magazines with more than 10 rounds, limited gun license by 5 years, mandatory psychical test, and this is just a tip of an iceberg. The details are not known yet, but if Commision agreed on a “compromise”, it means that 90% of their madness stayed in the law, because they were absolutely uncompromising, while MEPs were really lax and they were easily making one concession after another the whole time. Needless to say that even if “just” 50% of what they proposed stayed, it would be still terrible and totaly devastating to the czech gun laws, because 50% of insane law is still 50% insanity.

edit: And I also wouldn’t be so sure about implementation of the law by czech MPs. The only party that is principaly against more gun restrictions is ODS, which is dead party. TOP09 are neomarxists who will vote for the restrictions in an instant once it is ordered by EU, no matter what they say now (at least half of their MEPs will support it already in EP, mark my words). CSSD is split into two groups, while the one currently in command (people around Sobotka) are neomarxists who support gun restrictions. ANO has no principal stance on anything, they are currently against the gun ban, but once EU threaten to halt subsidies, they will all support it without blink of an eye. And counting on communists is also not very wise, considering their general support for state control of everything.

I’m honestly baffled anyone takes the main stream news seriously anymore.

Whoa man read the header they at least specify one is a political issue and the other is Opinion+.

His opinion is that people should be outraged over Russia hacking the election. So they’re still saying Russia hacked the election despite there being zero evidence.

No He is saying.

I can’t believe that you believe that they believe its true.

@DrFusselpulli

Have more details you may care to shed?

I hope you all understand Content, implies a Beta update.

I don’t belive that they believe it. What i care about is them lying and intentionally misleading the public.

No CNN ( and nearly every other main steam news outlet) as a whole has been peddling the Russia is hacking the election crap since the 1st debate, when their queen implied they hacked machines to help Trump win the primaries.

We will have a new Livestream soon

Edit: Ricks post is edited now

i was surprized that no comments were flaming him for that fact

There was one quite a ways down.

There is one from Slovakian who suggest that T-34-85 is the best tank. I’ve already suggest there that Sherman was better.
