I’m pretty sure they don’t deport people who come here and have a kid hence the term anchor baby. Could be wrong though.

Most of theses people use their kids as a shield and for citizen ship anyway so I really don’t have much sympathy for them.

It’s not the children’s fault of course, but I don’t see why we grant citizenship on the basis of you being born here. It encourages illegal immigration.

I hope Trump will try to change the way it is now, i.e. that even babies of illegal immigrants are automaticaly granted citizenship. If I remember correctly, during campaign he questioned that such cases are protected under constitution and even some high profile lawers aknowledged he might be right. I expect him to wait for appointment of new supreme court judges and then he will try to push it through. Shitstorm that will follow will be glorious. If media call him Hitler just because he wants to deport people who have no riight to be in the USA, what are they gonna call him if he will want to prevent poor little mexican babies from acquiring citizenship?

Considering that american supreme court just recently decided that 18th century constitution (sic!) guarantees right for same sex merriage, it’s obvious that it is only matter of the right choice of judges to get a desired decision in such politicaly charged issues. AFAIK it is expected Trump will have opportunity to appoint more than just the one judge he already proposed. He can wait for better conservative majority and then push it through with reasonable chance of success.

Given that Trump pledged to introduce strong constitutionalists into the SCOTUS, whích now includes also Gorsuch, I would not bet on swinging of the opinion away from literal meaning of the Constitution.

It’s perfectly public and known by the candidates that them , their entire family , extended and friends as well as possible cabinet members . That they will undergo extreme vetting . Everything upturned . Including as is clear , phone calls . This is to ensure anyone having the potential access to government information is not open to black mail .

This happens months before the election even takes place .

Huge difference between a background check, and wire tapping phone calls (especially if said official isn’t even in office yet). I don’t agree with it no matter who is doing it, and one of my biggest complaints of Trump is he seems okay with the NSAs practices, which completely violate the 5th amendment.

Big difference between a call to your parents and a international call . Especially to Russia .

Not unusual or illegal for a transition team to contact foreign officials prior to the inauguration. All adminstrations going back decades have done this.
