When it comes to “thoughts and prayers” in Czechia, the current situation is rather funny. People really hate those empty gestures, to the point that the moment any politician posts something like that on social media, he is flooded with replies basicaly telling him to shut up if he is not gonna do anything to prevent it from happening in Czechia (meaning banning muslim immigration etc.). So now politicians stay quiet and don’t even express solidarity. I find it hilarious. Like, from all the top czech politicians, I found only reactions from PM and FM, Deputy PMs are totaly quiet, one of them was just joking about some fiscal issues, not mentioning London at all.
They’re just a bunch of virtue signalling retards trying to score cool points, and they don’t give a damn about the actual victims. There are legitimately people who will spend hours of their day praying for these people, but they don’t go blab on social media about it.
This is what passes for journalism in the U.S now a days.

Pavement and side walk are actually two different things over here. The side walk refers to the concrete walking paths along roads, and pavement is just any concrete layer on the ground, including roads, floors, ect.
Never heard anyone use waste paper basket either, i just say trash can. But it could be different for other states, sorta like some states people generally say “pop” and most people in my state say soda.
Eye glasses is because glasses also refers to well… cups made of glass . But most people just say glasses anyway.

One big difference i have noticed, is you Brits seem to use cunt a lot more than Americans. Cunt is considered one of the must vulgar insults over here, so most people rarely use it.
I was reading through the comments in that video and i saw one Brit saying “Son of a bitch” isn’t a commonly used phrase/insult over there, is that true?
