Troll cave II

I think people are getting ahead of themselves . He has launched 59 of the most accurate weapons on the planet against a single base where the chemical weapons were supposed to have been launched from .

He did not target the Syrian troops . He targeted , fuel dumps , munition stores , aircraft and hangers .

Out of a base with I’d say likely close to or more than a 1000 troops stationed/operating on the strikes have killed 4 , that gives you some idea of the precision we are dealing with here .

There will be strong words from Russia and Syria but in the end I think actually putin will respect him more and behind the scenes take this as "fair enough " .

i don’t support toppling Assad what so ever but if trump claims to have evidence it was Assad he has dealt with it swiftly and sure as hell demonstrated that red line

Well you’ve made me calm down i bit. I still don’t like that fact that we’re even involved Syria. We have a shit ton of domestic issues, we don’t need to seek external ones.

I also don’t like that the main voices of reason when it came to foreign policy bannon and flynn are out. Trump has a lot of war mongers in his cabinet.

Sometimes it’s good to have a few angry dogs on your side ready when you need to make a show.

It will certainly demonstrate to the world and most importantly to Assad that the US can and will strike any place at anytime if the need arises .

I’m happy to see the US finally having some bollocks to act on its word once again regardless of me entirely agreeing with the situation and who’s getting the blame

Yes, at the time when equping soldier meant boots, rifle with fixed sights and a metal helmet.

When making APC meant weilding a couple of metal plates together and adding wheels and engine.

Now when the costs per modern soldier are in a completely different category and large scale engagements of large armies are extremely unlikely to happen with focus being given on precision strikes where it hurts instead of frontal wars, when properly training a soldier for this kind of war takes multiple years and not weeks as previously, mandatory military service has little to no value unless your system is based on militia backbone like in Switzerland.

Or unless people refuse to join the professional core to the point that it is impossible to have any soldiers, so you have to renew mandatory service, as happened in Sweden.

I wasn’t arguing the merits of mandatory conscription. Was just pointing out that the idea of a draft isn’t a U.S only thing.

Besides we only institute a draft during a major war if enlistment numbers aren’t high enough. We don’t require military service during times of peace.

Well all I can say is, if he escalates things further in Syria he will be a one term president.

Complete and total stab in the back to the people who got him elected. If we wanted war in Syria we would have elected Hillary.

The U.S will just be stuck in the same loop forever it seems.

Global politics are extremely fluid . It’s very naive to think you can vote in a president who is going to be in a position to simply turn a blind eye to event across the globe .

Had trump done nothing he would have looked weak . You voted for a strong president who will act when action is needed . You got one .

Why is it our responsibility to be the worlds policemen? Do we launch cruise missiles everytime some sad photos are shown on the news?

To whom? The media? Neo cons? Democrats?

Not to the people who elected him.[quote=“TheDivineInfidel, post:4357, topic:27880”]

I voted for a president who repeatedly promised on the campaign trail that we would discontinue our disastrous nation building policy, and put American interests first.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think shooting 100 million dollars in missles at a country halfway around the globe really helps us. It might help us in future policing, but most of us are tired of that.

How far do you take this view . Should hitler just have been left to take all of Europe slaughter all the Jews because "its not our problem "

To the global stage . Importantly china and Russia .

So let ISIS thrive . Completely retreat . Allow the Geneva convention to be broken time and time again. ?

Comparing the two situations is absurd. Saddam killed over a million people, yet displacing him made everything worse.

Same with gaddafi. You cannot go to war with every country that has a brutal dictator, it never ends well for anyone.

You’ve said so yourself.

At this stage all it seems to be doing is pushing us closer to war with Russia. As for China, they’re batshit crazy commies who don’t give a damn about loss of life, a few cruise missiles won’t browbeat them.[quote=“TheDivineInfidel, post:4359, topic:27880”]

Right because shooting missiles at Assad helps defeat ISIS.

I fully support destroying ISIS because we created that mess. Situation in Syria is completely different, we have no business or right to meddle in their affairs.

The future of Syria should be decided by Syrians.

still hands down one of the best stories to come out of the war apart from the soldier being killed of course

indeed i have said . however you also can not sit by and allow people to be brutally gassed to death . as i say i want Assad to win but chemical weapons are a no no .

the US has sent a firm message to more than simply assad but to the world over that the rules of war and rules of the world as a whole need to be followed this was a classy move by trump . he has shown part of his hand just before talk with both china and russia . he will now be fully respected like obama never was .

if that was the case ISIS would have won . syria is holding on only through us bombing ISIS and russia bombing basically every other cunt .

without outside help which we have indirectly gave Assad he would have lost .

god i love this man

We have plenty of allies that brutally murder innocents yet we don’t launch missiles at them.

Like I said if this strike is it then fine. But if Trump gets us into a war I. Syria he will not win a second term.

Isis is only their because our intervention. Because we decided it was for some reason our business what happens in Syria. I support getting rid of Isis because we created it. But I do not support action against Assad, because it only helps Isis.

Have you ever considered the possibility it was carried out by the Syrians however not on Assads orders …just a senior officer taking a decision on his own ?

On another beautiful note

That could be possible yes. But it’s all irrelevant now because some sad pictures has caused the Trump admin to do a 180 degree flip, and now removing Assad is a priority.

The only thing that gives me hope is the fact that the Secretary of State said removing Assad through political means after ISIS was gone. But the the UN ambassador said remove him via Arab coalition.

As for the carrier going to Korea. I’m fine with that, we have troops there and have been allies for a long time.

I hope Bannon won’t be ousted. It looks like without him, with Kushner and Ivanka by his side, Trump will turn into Hilary n2, including all the feminist bullshit.

Unfortunately it seems that’s exactly what’s happening. Him and Flynn were the voices of reason, but now Flynn is gone and new national security advisor wants Bannon out. That will leave his cabinet full of globalist neocons.

Ivanka and Kushner are hard core Democrats, and have been pushing their damn agenda since day one. I’ll bet money Ivanka was one of the biggest proponents of the air strike.

Kushner is just advising Trump to do what is best for Israel which means toppling and destroying all Arab nations. Glad to see America first translates to Isreal first.

Most of Trump voters I’ve spoken with (i share this belief) that both Ivanka and Kushner need to get the fuck out of the White House. I didn’t vote for either of those liberal fucktards.

Here comes the problem with nepotism though. Such people, who are basicaly democrats from what I understand, would never have such influence in Trump’s office, if they weren’t his family. And he can’t really fire them because they are his family… And from what I know he cares a lot about good relations in his family, he has still good relations even with his former wife, she speaks nicely about him in czech media and even his former czech mother-in-law still praise him. If Trump will have to choose, imo he will easily pick his family over ideology…
