Why two islands? That has always caused problems with using the flight deck when used in the past.
And it looks ugly as sin.
Gives a better view from the control tower to have it separate from the main ships bridge .
Relatively new thing I donât believe this set up has been used in the past however I may be wrong .
I have to say Iâm not a huge fan of the front section looks to stubby but other than that I rather like them

Operational date for 809 squadronâs F35B was supposedly April 2023.
The promotional blurb had the lifts capable of bringing 4 fighters to the deck in 60 seconds⊠I combined the two.
Like the old Blue Circle radar on the early F3, or the various other âfitted for but not withâ items in MoD procurement these are not fully operational carriers, nor will be for some time.
Correct this is the first week of sea trials, likely to be a few changes along the way also .
I believe they are due to enter operational service in the Royal Navy in 2019 with combat operations to begin in 2021 which by then the strike force on board will be a joint US-U.K. One
