It seams that combat even without the 5 star directional pointer is still possible and even playable.
Does anyone know if this is going to be a option (along with other UI options) in the console version?

No I don’t think it’s possible on PC or Console, I think he was only asking about console because that’s what he has.
in the PC theres probably a way to replace the ui textures with something else to make it go away, it’s a easy solution but it could get annoying if you wanted to put they back.
