Two things that I find a little annoying

So lately I realized that two things in particular are quite annoying for me.

First, why do all NPC’s start working that late, at 9-10 o’clock? It’s kinda annoying that you can’t interact with anyone before 9 o’clock. Most NPC’s should wake up at 5 or 6 o’clock at least. Not only is it annoying that for example you can’t use the shops in that time, but it’s also highly inaccurate. In medieval times people started working at sunrise after all.

Second, the fights at night are very unfair. Enemies obviously don’t need a torch to spot me in the dark and they seem to see perfectly fine while I run around trying to fight them and I can’t see s***. That’s rather frustrating especially if you get ambushed or if you suck at combat like me.

Anyway, are you also annoyed by these things or am I just being oversensitive?

Yeah lazy bastards they should open at least at 8am.

Hmmm. From what I can gather online, in England (maybe it was different in Bohemia) in the Middle Ages, most shops opened by about 0600 but closed by 1500. Only a few types, like taverns and smithies, stayed open until curfew. So, about 9 hours of shopping at most stores (not counting breaks for meals and mass), which is what we have in the game. It’s just that everything has been shifted to close at curfew. Seems fair enough.

you’ll get the hang of the combat within no time and then you will wish for enemies who are more of a challenge. Considering that this is all that annoys you…then you are perfectly fine because these aren’t things worth worrying about!

Well yeah combat is another story. I just finished Ginger in a Pickle, didn’t do much else besides the main quest (because I always thought I had to hurry) so I’m not sure how good I am supposed to be at this point. But I already had problems with the two bandits, not to mention all the cumans that can ambush you any time. I don’t know, I try to fight with sword and shield but I lose stamina very quickly and the enemies block most of my attacks so it’s hard to hit them. I also try to use the bow sometimes but I can’t hit a target even if it’s 5 meters in front of me, so yeah. Also I have the feeling that in real combat you can’t really use the techniques from Bernard properly.

The bow is a pain, but if you have the right stats for it there will be almost no sway and it is pretty easy to figure out how high you need to aim after a few attempts. As for what Bernard shows you the only thing that is difficult to use are combos. Either enemies will perfect block or riposte every attack interrupting your combos, or they will fall to the first strike in your combo.

The hours don’t bother me to none, I can work around that, but the reactions from the NPC’s at night and at anytime (costume, dressed like them with face covered), they spot me all the time. Not cool.

I have found night fights easy enough to run from and hide. They are tough, but remember you have a noise factor and being conspicuous. Work at being more stealthy.
