Ugly people in the game world

So instead of having a population that all look like Greek adonises with all males being the same perfect he-man shape and all the women being near on supermodels is there going to be ordinary looking plebs as well? A couple fatties, some scraggly thin beanpoles as well as some down right ugly people getting about would be a welcome change in a game like this. In all I have seen from the videos out everyone is very similar in body shape and height. I know its probably pretty late in the piece to be bringing up this idea and it could be a fair bit of work making new skeletons/skins but its something that I think would definitely add to immersion!

I cannot seem to reply to my own thread so I will edit here instead

You kinda went off the deep end at the start there MrSoKoLoV, I never once said that anyone who wasn’t a supermodel had to be either fat or ugly. The only opinion I voiced at all about peoples body shape was rather than the usual body shape of a weightlifter or swimsuit model that we see in games I would like to see more normal shaped people in it. You know like the kind of people you see walking down a street, fat, skinny, beautiful or ugly. MINTEEER I did not say anywhere that anyone who has different physical features than myself (even though I am dashingly handsome) is ugly.

Before I answer your question, can I just say I hate opinions like the one you just expressed. You immediately label people who aren’t “topmodels” ugly or fat. Well newsflash here, many people aren’t, I myself weigh more than I should so in your opinion I am not only a “fatty” but also ugly. While I would like to lose weight and actually am trying to do lose some, I still feel great in general. It’s only because of other people I don’t feel 100% happy since they find it enjoyable to call other people all kinds of things because it’s cool to do so or they just don’t care. I’d rather live next door to a kind and trustworthy neighbor even if he/she would weigh a ton, would have an eyepatch, be bald, have crooked teeth and walk on a wooden leg than live to scumbag a*hole who has a figure like “it should be”.

On topic: I do agree that there should be other kinds of people in the world. Someone who weighs more, who is unable to walk, is blind or deaf or those kinds of things. You can’t call it a realistic world if everyone is “perfect” and has no flaws, not even in real life is there anybody in this world who can call himself/herself perfect. However there are people who do so but they don’t have any brain cells to understand how stupid they are.

Considering the Fact that they are using 3d scanned Real People to model the characters you will see a diverse amount of real people that will fit into whatever you define as beauty.

I suggest watching the following videos as well as all the other video updates.

I would like to point out that he has done no such thing.

He has by labeling people of different physical features than (presumably) him ‘‘ugly’’

Note: We only 3D scan faces. Bodies are a different stuff.

Making a parametrized body model and/or animations or several distinct bodies and/or animations (and doing the same with clothing system to make both systems compatible) is something, well, completely different. That’s is the resources hungry and bunch of other things complicating task.
I hope this gives you a picture of how big interference with the whole system such feature causes although it seems small at first glance (you just want young, fat, sick and old people instead of just the young ones, right?).
However there is still a solution that you can create a few special characters (ie. key story characters) who are exception to bunch of other systems (can’t change clothing, can’t fight, can’t ride horses, clip through beds and tables etc.) but as such is inherently bad.

Whether we (will?) have any pf these systems or not I am not telling you. Just shedding some light on this challenge
