Ulrich? Game corrupted? *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

So im at the mission where i enlist Ulrich to accompany me to the Skalitz mines to put an end to the counterfeiting. We find the camp and a battle ensues me on one and Ulrich on two.

We kill them but more are coming from the mines. As I’m preparing for battle I start getting wrecked from behind. Turns out Ulrich is now trying to kill me, I’m sure I didn’t hit him on accident. Is this intentional or bugged?

The however is I tried to reload to before that mission and it says Game Load Failed. I try another and another and another I’ve gone back over 6 hrs and they all failed! What happened?!

I love… LOVE this game but bugs this gamebreaking and time wasting are hard to justify continue playing. This is beta level stuff. Anyways any ideas or fixes? Please help!

yep this seems to be a common bug once you accrue a large amount of playtime. i just hit a little over 33 hours and got this on all my saves, hopefully itll be fixed soon.

33 hrs lol, I’m at 112hrs and I’m not at this storyline quest :joy:

i would love to still be playing, but ive been stuck for 2 days cause of this. might just start a new game…

Just go enjoy other things, they’ll patch it sooner or later. There is plenty to do

i dont think you understand, those of us who are getting this bug are not able to play unless we backtrack a lot or start a new game

That’s unfortunate. Just backtrack, save frequalently over multiple different saves. Live and learn like I have. Sure I’ve come across bugs with broken quests, but I just revert and forget about that quest or find a solution around it or read the forums fora solution. I’ve played 112 but probably lost 10hrs. No big deal

So finally a save works from 8hrs ago but man this really sucks. makes me nervous to progress and never know when this might happen again. i heard ppl have this problem with Robber Baron quest but the save that works is just past that so i have no idea what caused it,

yeah ive done a bit of research and this has been around for at least 8 months, was found in beta at some point. my last usable save is 13 hours ago and im right there with you, worried about starting up again and losing it all. think im just going to wait a bit till it hopefully gets patched.

i get with a game this sprawling, with so many moving parts there is gonna be bugs but shouldnt be released with so many completely game breaking ones. Needs to be addressed before anything else.

Summary

Ulrich is a traitor, my work around was to no have him accompany. I feel sorry for the old man.
