Unable to even get close to ginger

I spent several hours selling poached meat and herbs to finance arrows, to be able to practice and level archery, explicitly to have any hope of surviving the two asshats chasing ginger.

Clothed with shitsoiled tissue paper the lot of them, I skewerded them with 3 and 8 arrows respectively and they dont as much as blink an eye, and are obviously at full fighting capacity after wards, whereas I, as soon as i receive the first hit have bleeding meatsrips for hands, my arms are next to useless and I bleed like a fountain
after the first hit they land!

this doesn’t seem to feel realistic, but rather quite unfair. Like heavy plotarmour protecting these numpties

Also, It seems unneccesarily difficult to switch from bow to melee weapon. try hitting ‘2’ as you might, there is a 90% chance of the game ignoring it. and once you’ve gotten rid of the bow, drawing the melee weapon seems like the last thing in the world henry is willing to do

Your game must be bugged. For me, first one went down with an arrow to the face (Used Hans’ bow) and I just killed the second one in melee using only the short sword you find in Skalitz without a shield.

Which bow and which arrows did you use? With a “toy” bow and let’s say tournment arrows you’re like a modern times baby with plastic toy bow against a full kevlar trained SWAT man. With depowered bow and arrows you need to hit in vital, non covered body zones.

You won’t pull it off. I had the same problem and I did what I advised another guy in a different thread: sneak to their camp past midnight, kill one of them while he’s asleep, the other will wake up, but then you’ll only have a single guy to defeat. It’s easier.

Between the two charcoal burner locations, up North. It’s in the Southern part shore of the river, inside the woods.

I’m getting REALLY pissed!

Did even more leveling and prepping, contented to talk my way out of these murderers. Talked to the charcoal burners, set out to go on to the meeting with those guys, turned round a corner and saw two dead guys on the ground, and was immediately surrounded by 4 or five heavily armoured bandits.

HOURS of prep work for nothing.

that REALLY feels totally random and fucked up. I can definately see, why people demand a traditional save system.

To be repeatedly fucked in the arse because of totally random shit is absolutely NOT at all rewarding and frustrating to the highest degree.

It seems every time i load the game, every singkle time I try to get better prepared, kitted out etc. to get even 10 meters (yes, actual distance) closer to getting any further in the ginger quest, the game increases difficulty tenfold.
Totally random. Totally unprovoked.

I can’t even fucking run from the stupid cuntmans because i get an arrow in the back. i stagger get clubbed to death, by a dozen sheep shagging arseholes, and if I manage to run in any direction at all, henry learned running by watching slasher B-Movies, falling over his own legs every 5 paces

This is seriously grating on my nerves, and killing the otherwise good fun I have playing KCD. But i just can’t get any inch further, the game actively seems to punish me overkill for being so retarded, as to pick it up again after a hard days work, trying, once again, to get a mm closer to ginger. And doing so after i spent hours trying to improve and get better kit etc.

NOPE.

this REALLY feels unfair and makes me less and less willing to continue playing at all. Not just because it is any mission, but because it seemingly is one of the first ever quest of the whole darn game, and unless it’s finished, i can’t even learn melee with capt bernard. So doing this feels mandatory.

I’m at wits end here. pretty close to dropping the game.

It wouldn’t be that maddening and frustrating, if big baddies or groups of bandits were nigh impossibly to beat. If you had ANY chance of running away. But that henry bitch is dumb, slow, stumbling over his legs, and rather than being spured by the danger and motivated to run faster by a tiny nudge, all that seems to happen in his shit smeared brain, is the idea of getting away alive falling off the shelf, once he gets bumped. They could throw a fucking mushroom at him, and he’d stop running, start profusely bleeding or possibly losing sub-atomic cohesion and desintegrating, leaving bohemia a smooking crater with a mushroom cloud over it

Youll never be able to take 10 guys on at the same time, without running and dividing the group. But if you can’t get away, you are probably too low of a level. Level up maintenance for perks and agility.

Im still confused that youd encounter that much opposition , just wondering if you are off track.

I am litterall folling the dirtpath near the stream from the 2nd group of charcoal burners to where the third group is supposed to be. I wouldn’t want to take on even 1 !!! guy in close combat. I havent had any decent training, and as long as the ginger thing keeps captain bernard busy, he is unable to provide training. I am wearing some armour, yet even a piss soaked peasant wielding a half rotten fish in a raid on the streets is a serious danger to me
 these are levels of ‘difficult’ that i frankly find immersion breakingly ridiculous.

I never really fenced in my lif, though have a few historical swords. put me on the street with a shit smeared peasant with a wet stick, and I will at least have a chance against him with a sword in hand

Lol, sorry to laugh but i love your description. Ride your horse if you have it. I cant remember if you should have it at this point. I also had decent gear because i was stealing from guards. You can also follow them back to their base and kill them in their sleep. But report what you know to captain bernard
