Various Arms and Armor of the Middle Ages

For those interested in the various arms and armors of the past…
I know some people that are in a re-enactment group, therefore i know some websites where they sell replicas of arms and armor of the various historic periods.

Both websites are available in English

celticwebmerchant
Wulflund

On these 2 websites, you can find tons of nice replicas, from swords and axes, to plate armor and shields.
They also have periodic clothing, jewelry, tools and objects of daily use, such as drinking goblets or cutlery.
I’ve never bought something from either store, but i love to gawk and drool over all their goodies.

Happy Droolin’

You have many craftsman. Unfortunatly I know the fellows who craft eastern stuff

Again not sure who advertisement is received, but I know these people to be a good company of smiths who take custom orders. You can either send them a diagram or just ask them to make a replica of a shamshir or kilij or whatever your fancy. In terms of price, I suppose upper middle is what they ask.

I can warmly recommend these craftmen, whom I have been in touch with:

Western European Equipment of high quality…

I posted this elsewhere, but it’s worth a repost. This is an utterly fantastic video showing what is actually capable with medieval armor. It is far more like “Iron Man” (though obviously without the power  ) than you would expect. Movies are wrong, again. LOL -

very nice. funny thing is, there is debunking and demything video from early 20th century featuring armored knight display in museum “coming alive” and moving around, but hollywood and popular culture not pay attention. to busy mounting king henry onto horse with crane.

I wanted to post some pictures from my collection but it seems I’m not allowed to. : (

Sadly people back then already knew it was bullshit but movie directors went against historical advisers (as always)

I really like that!! Thank you very much!!!

Everything was already said long before. Why do we have to repeat it again and again?

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
-,George Santayan”

Or something in that direction with these tropes added.

“When exposed to an exaggeration or fabrication about certain real-life occurrences or facts, some people will perceive the fictional account as being more true than any factual account.”

“An element that is patently unrealistic, but which you have to do anyway because viewers have been so conditioned to expect it that its absence would be even more jarring.”

Sci-fi suffers from the same problems with unscientific science which I assume bothers scientists as opposed to historians more than once when watching a movie.
