The problem is in a realistic combat scenario, timing, distance, and spatial awareness are the most important aspects, none of which you have control of in the combat system in this game. The animations are realistic, but the challenge of multi enemy fights comes from getting stuck on small geometry when trying to backpedal to see both enemies. Or the fact that you can’t see the wind up to your own sword swings so you have no idea when they are going to land. That and in the early game the enemies have much higher levels than you so the combat boils down to getting lucky that they don’t just use their canned push animation when you get close enough to hit them. The early game combat just has you get pushed around and it feels like you have no control of your character. I hate that the backer community pushed back against an optional third person camera because that would fix most of the combat issues. When you get to be a higher level the combat actually works because there is much more forgiveness. In the early game having every move the enemy does and every move you do deplete your stamina and give you a blurred screen which further reduces any awareness of what is going on makes combat impossible except in really easy one on one scenarios. Every one who I’ve heard that has liked the combat is in the late game. A game shouldn’t take sixty hours to get one of its most basic mechanics to a workable state.
What the f*** am I reading? People who claim this combat system is not historically correct that even thieves and bandits preferred “duels 1vs1”, people who complain about the difficulty of the game because they can not kill a bandit if they do not have the final equipment or are not level 20.
Learn to play before complaining and especially don’t have historical pretensions with the same Henry’s cult rate at the beginning of the game, that is better.
My damn English sucks but people who complain about this combat system have to play Skyrim in which to die you have to boost all NPCs stats of 3000% if not they can’t even touch you.
Instead focus on movements, on when to kill one of the enemies when they’re more than one, on how to counter attack dodge and kill in one or two blows without failing that’s the way to go. Mid-late game combat is too damn easy cause of you complainers that can’t use a joypad or a keyboard, kill all the cumans at start instead of running it’s possible is just you have to learn how and not complain about. you can’t.
You are aware of the existence of irony and sarcasm?
and are you aware not all messages were ironic? and that’s not all, this forum is full of this kind of complains, not to mention the “problem” about saving the game that was just the milestone.
Just people have to learn something about gaming and the kind of game they are playing before start a complain
Yes, but the posting with the “bandits prefering duels 1vs1” was.
With the rest of your posting you’re probably right.
60 hours? Combat is easy as soon as you are able to recieve training from bernard which is… very early. All you need is the ability to dodge and riposte and combat gets much easier. You could even spend a full day or two training with him to increase your stats massively. I would like to know if we are even playing the same game here lmao!
This will be my last post in this forum, thanks to people like caelib.
I’m extremely disappointed. I thought it would be fun but it has turned out the opposite, having to constantly listen to all the crybabies.
People just suck at the game and emediatly start blaming bugs, game itself.
Combat system is more real and challenging than any game out there. You reach a level where lightly Armored bandits become easy but still plenty of hardcore bandits out there to make it challenging.
Learn to fight properly or otherwise just quit!
Yes there is a possibility. Atm modifications can do that.
i can post you some smileys if you want some realistic combat things!
And you want an accurate combat system like real life? Then uninstall the game and go out!
