Vlad the impaler as a protagonist for the sequel of KCD franchise

I know it’s a bit early to ask for a sequel but if this game was successful at launch, I hope WH handles historical games from now.

Now there is one historical figure that is overly shadowed by Dracula that the real person behind it was barely known for his own identity or yet didn’t matter to most people because he was fictionalized, portrayed, and is commonly known as Dracula. It would be interesting addition to KCD franchise to see Vlad III, Vlad Dracula, Vlad the impaler’s (yes, they are all the same person just different titles) real identity. Cast aside blood sucking bat shifting creature, Vlad is actually an interesting person. I mean why not? As a young prince of wallachia he struggled so much in life that it formed him into a fearsome figure and he just not impales his victim with spear and plant them to ground for fun but it is to inspire order through fear.

It would also be interesting to see the places involved in his time era like targoviste & constantinople and besides the year gap between Sigismund and Vlad is not that far, KCD’s timeline is 1403 while Vlad’s is 1431 to 1476. They are also connected to each other because Vlad spent his childhood at his court who then made him a member of the Order of the Dragon hence earned him the title Vlad Dracul.

He’d make a good villain/antagonist, but protagonist? It would be interesting at least:P

Ye he was a very intereszing person but I doubt since his story without any fantastic elemtns would have negative impact on genersl public.

Yeah not much depth is known about him but a historical fiction that’s close to the truth might do and I’m confident that WH can pull that stunt.

Read about him before, even saw a documentary about it on tv a while back. Would be really interesting to see a game about him and would almost defenitely buy it. However doing a story about a madman like Vlad would mean a lot of gore in the game, both in gameplay as in cutscenes. And I think most studios/developers want to avoid “difficult” topics like gore/violence since it will affect rating. And most want a “normal” rating, not one that will be the highest you can get. Still I would surely support a game with Vlad in it.

Not really a madman but a sociopath probably or just pragmatic, I read somewhere that the impaling was some sort of strategy to inspire order for his subjects but also to struck fear with his enemies. Anyways, by chance this documentary is in youtube or other media sites? I would love a link for it since I’ve only known him through reading.

I am fairly sure I saw it on Discovery Channel or National Geographic in my country (Belgium). Will try looking for it this week, if I find anything, I will let you know.
